For me, Michael Bay is a director who has given a lot of hope. Not for Transformers, which I consider an immense and hopeless piece of crap, but for Pain & Gain, the proof that even today you can make stupid films like they did back in the days of Commando: incredibly silly films that don’t take themselves seriously, don’t try to be anything else, and don’t hide behind nauseating irony or moldy references. “My name is Daniel Lugo and I believe in fitness.”
