THE REVIEW

When you know who the Boredoms are, or even just their mastermind Yamatsuka Eye, you can only try to imagine what might happen on an album... or quite the opposite.

There are people who love experimenting with various substances, savoring the trip; then there are people, like myself, who experience personal trips through music (not all music, of course).

This is one of those albums.

I have always imagined it as an experience like staring at the sun, allowing yourself to be blinded, for 1 hour and 8 minutes.

At first, your gaze holds and it's almost pleasant... but then you start to feel your eyes burning, more and more... all of a sudden I'm blind, but at peace with myself.

This is Psychedelia!

Boredoms

Boredoms are a Japanese experimental/noise rock group formed in the mid-1980s and led by Yamatsuka Eye. Emerging from the wrecking-ball chaos of Hanatarash, they evolved from hyperactive noise sprees to trance-psychedelic, drum-driven epics, with landmark albums like Super æ and Vision Creation Newsun and large-scale Boa Drum performances.
