Seen in its time. From the memory I hold, I would say the phrase "it's an enormous piece of crap" captures it well. Trash to the core, yet still at times amusing even though it loses itself in the ending: as happens in almost all films of this genre. She, oh esteemed one, writes well!

Musically, a band with some serious chops, especially for Maier's drumming, and brilliant for their hilarious lyrics and music full of twists, pauses, and accelerations. And any group that can write a song about a popsicle stick has my everlasting respect.

What memories: Swedish Erasmus students singing in the streets at night choruses like "ditemi perchéééé/ se la mucca su mu, il merlo non fa meeee/ho un dirigibile marrone/senza elica e timone, dentro meeee" convinced that Elio were a rock band like Vasco Rossi.

The problem with Fulkrum is that the irony of the last sentence was likely very much in your mind when you wrote it, but it wasn't conveyed at all in the writing. In spoken language, there are tones of voice, facial expressions, and pauses. But if you write, for example: "you're a dickhead," it isn't ironic.

Great writing. Penetrating, precise, and impactful. If it happens, I will definitely see it.

Few but good! Thank you so much for the ride, and if you can, go see it. Often we complain that Italian cinema is dead, etc., and then we watch the usual little films that are all craft and end up feeling empty. This one scratches and it's original, and even if imperfect, it truly deserves your attention.

Five star sparkling films. Gassman and Trintignant are perfect in embodying the bastard profiteer and the good/naive character. Strong ending. Honestly, I don't see any flaws at all. A must in the genre because it makes you laugh and think.

I really like how you write, but I would have preferred this as an editorial since you yourself say it’s a rant and not a review. As much as it seems a bit exaggerated as a diatribe, I agree: the songs from cartoons quickly wore me out, and I find it quite pathetic that 40-year-olds get so excited (very different from listening occasionally) and that cover bands are popping up like mushrooms.
