Hunter S. Thompson Paura e disgusto a Las Vegas (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)

A hallucinogenic book if there ever was one. I read it and understood absolutely nothing, but that's exactly why I liked it.

Seen at Sziget in Budapest this summer, they pulled out a super cool concert. Songs only from the 3rd album onwards, but all reworked, rearranged, played with class and technique. Canned Heat was amazing!

@il paolo: the guy who rallies the crowd is there! He's still there! Every time I leave the faculty, I see him! The first time I saw him, I was stunned, unbelievable :)

Noooo Garabarek was 200 meters from my University and I didn't know it! But doesn't Katché play with him anymore?

But what was the point? You know, starblazer, that you don’t like GNR (and I don’t like them anymore either), but what’s the sense in writing this review, with the sole purpose of overshadowing the ones that will probably come pouring in for the new album? The timing of this review’s release is too clever. It’s clear you had this ready for years, just waiting for the new GNR album to drop.
But really, you could have just written a comment on a review of Chinese and said you hated it (like you’ve done before), saving us from this pointless review. In my opinion, you just wasted your time. Oh, and by the way, I haven’t liked Guns in quite a while now... in fact, I’m now hiding their albums that I have at home.

I didn't mind it at all; of course, it can't be compared to "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts," but it's still quite enjoyable.

Well. I admit I listened to GNR when I was 14 as well. I have all their albums, original ones too. I checked out a bit of this supposed album after downloading it, of course, just out of curiosity. Well, 15 years for this? It's nice, there's some good stuff, but was all this fuss really worth it? For me, it's with these constant delays that Axl has messed things up, because by doing so, he has created a tremendous expectation, which could only be justifiably met with an exceptional album. And this isn’t it; at best, it’s a good album. But was it worth waiting 15 years, of which (I read) 5 were spent just recording the drum parts (5 years!)? Brunelleschi took 16 years to build the dome of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore: it's a bit striking to know that a musician took only one year less to release an album of his. Which, of course, is not a masterpiece like the Dome. As for the rest, I’ll say the usual things: no Izzy, no Duff, no Slash... you can really tell it’s a different thing! I’ve read and heard about people who don’t even go to school, who leave work early to buy this album. For heaven’s sake, I’m a fan of idleness, but... isn’t this a bit excessive? It’s not like it’s tickets to see a concert of Miles Davis, WITH Miles Davis, specially resurrected for the occasion. I didn’t like the review and I don’t agree with many things. Especially the claim ā€œit contains 14 tracks and this immediately means problems; generally for a rock album, the recommended number of tracks is around ten, while the rest are often considered fillerā€: but where is that written? It’s true that it might be the case with the Guns, but it’s better not to generalize. And then, the track by track, no!

A beautiful review. Moreover, the last paragraphs are skillfully set against a typical theory of a certain philosophy of law that, as a fresh law student, I find quite stimulating and thought-provoking, as it can be applied to other similar judicial cases. I would be surprised to learn that you don't study law! Anyway, you have a truly remarkable writing ability, congratulations. If you haven't read it yet, I recommend another book on the subject: "La Notte" by Elie Wiesel; in the meantime, I will go in search of the one you suggested.
Massive Attack Protection
Voto:
Wonderful album, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of "Blue Lines," but it's really close. Massive Attack are always a guarantee of quality! I give it a 5 for the various tracks like "Protection," "Karmacoma," "Spying Glass" (a gem from Orazio!), "Sly," and "Heat Miser"; not to mention the others. I impatiently await the new album, hoping that Del Naja and Marshall decide to finish it and that it sees the light before 2010.
Oscar Wilde Il Ritratto di Dorian Gray

"It's not a nice story," mhhh... I don't quite agree! Given the time of publication (I might be mistaken, but it should be around 1900), the story of "The Picture" could have sparked quite a debate. The release of a book like this in an era such as Victorian England is pretty bold. Of course, yesterday was yesterday and today is today, and a story about a boy selling his soul to be beautiful might seem a bit cliché if written now. It could, right? But the tale of how Dorian gradually changes personality is not only unsettling but also beautifully captivating (especially since the transformation is described remarkably well). Anyway, I respect your opinion, Katharsys; to be honest, you are one of the first people to tell me they don't like this book. Thank you again for your comments on the review.
