Ryuichi Sakamoto Chasm

Sakamoto's latest album "Out Of Noise" I really liked a lot and I believe it's the best album of 2009. I don't know this one.

You could have at least waited for the official release, considering that many sounds from this leaked version are absolutely lacking. Anyway, it's a beautiful album that gradually captures you, a mosaic where each piece is represented by a collaboration. At first, it misleads you, but then it reveals itself in all its goodness, with everything in the right place forming a sound, once again, different. Great Massive. I won't give a rating yet because the evaluation is still in progress, and I'm waiting for the official release. Paradise Circus, Atlas Air, Splitting The Atom, Pray For Rain, Girl I Love You, Flat Of The Blade, Psyche (probably the most shocking of the bunch), Gil I Love You...you just have to choose.

But excuse me, where do you hear the cold sounds in this record? It seems to me one of the most full of life from Massive. 100th Window, that was cold; this is just the exact opposite.

The new album Heligoland needs more than a few listens to be appreciated, but after a while, everything falls into place, even if in the end, "the image" is not what you expect. Trust it, because it deserves it. One example: at first, I didn't like Atlas Air because it seemed much emptier compared to the live version; now, however, I appreciate it a lot and believe it's one of the best things written and sung by 3D. But all the tracks deserve credit, thanks to a consistent logic that permeates the whole album, which takes on a whole different flavor when listened to in full. In short, this is a real album, not a collection of singles. Only applause for this group. Just my opinion.

I don't know the album, but I'll make sure to get it. As for the new one by Massive: I really like it and I think if they had returned to the dark sounds of the last two albums, it would have been a bit of a repetition, a "stagnation." However, that doesn’t seem to be the case when listening to the new album, which has many elements of novelty. Good reception.

I have a friend who worked as a sound engineer for this tour of Pino Daniele, and he told me some anecdotes about him and the band. Anyway, accompanying Pino were Matthew Garrison (bass) and Alfredo Golino (drums; probably the best Italian drummer), not exactly nobodies.

And who would have guessed that you said they suck? ;)

In the CD, the only track that really feels like it's missing something is Atlas Air (although I'm waiting for better quality to judge definitively). Live, it was called Marakesch and it was devastating; here on the disc, I like it less. Those who were in Milan or Conegliano this year will confirm. On 100 Window, I don’t agree; I believe that aside from maybe a bit of Name Taken, the last three tracks are of excellent value. Antistar and Smalltime Sjot Away are truly magnificent for me. But maybe I'm not the best judge... :)
