For those who say—keep saying—that my reviews are too long, well, that just means they haven't understood a damn thing about me. I don't review, I TELL STORIES. If you like, take my reviews, print them out, group them together, and make a book of stories from them. Earlier I told you about Cars (but I'm not done yet); now I'm telling you about Adam Ant.

There’s a touching documentary titled "the madness of the prince charming" floating around... its story truly deserves your attention. As for the artist, and the entire London punk/post-punk scene, I don't know what the hell to say: perhaps there are no real artists, no true great composers (someone who listens to the Clash or the Stranglers might want to slap me): it's logical that Ant wasn't one of them. Yet, like much in punk, often the characters, their lives, (their ugly endings) their rises and declines, their reinvention of artistic credibility (think of the Police or Paul Weller, or the '80s pop star Billy Idol)... it’s all stuff that piques curiosity.

See, even the first one wasn't bad at all. And "Head Music," perhaps overlooked and a bit more predictable, is glam from the first to the last note (and therefore splendid).

these guys intrigue me. they catch my attention

Just imagine that the esteemed critics consider this one of the top 10 albums of the new wave era!

I have already done (and sent) the one for friend or foe, and I’m working on strip and vive le rock... then I don’t know if I will continue with the other episodes (I have another Cars album and another from Ocasek to review)... but for sure I would like to focus on the punk period with a collection of demos titled "who taught you to torture?". A very violent album.

I guys, I didn't think there would be so many who appreciate Ant. Francescobus, now I'm pulling out the review of Kings Of The Wild Frontier. I'm glad that more visits and additional comments have come to your lovely review.

The fact that all English groups cover this doesn't mean that it's a masterpiece (maybe all English groups suck). And anyway, maybe you’re right, especially when I think of Bloc Party.
