bleak eye... keep listening to them... and then tell me if they aren't the best of the Seattle sound ever... not the ones that sound more immediate, or those that could have been more successful and weren't... the music, just the music, and nothing else.

Guys, tell me if I'm wrong, if I'm talking nonsense: when I listened to this record, it felt like a record by a drunken Peter Erskine high on kerosene, in short, jazz-rock drumming with that "melancholic" touch... great Jimmy!

I like pushing the senses. Very complex, in its own way. Then shifts, comfort in sound are nice (but repetitive). In short, they are good, very good, but maybe they could be more than just good.

Strong the Catherine Wheel! I'm spinning this album all over again. Thank you for bringing it back to my mind.

Whether you like it or not, our band has proven with this album that they know how to write songs. They know how to create refined pop, crystalline ballads, and rhythm and blues. More specifically, they took rhythm and blues and transformed it into pop, while all the other mainstream pop singers relied solely on dance to create pop.

Can you compare a pop album by Collins (maybe with one by Jason Donovan?)?

The problem is that no one in the mainstream makes albums like that, not even him.

I'm fed up with these intellectual Sicilians, sought after for their melodic writing, polished in language but only for show... what was inexpressible in a song was narrated by Battiato, but at least he laid it on musical foundations that created HIS POP. Instead, I've shattered myself with female singers and jazz singer-songwriters, who in the end do nothing but export an idea, the one of Sicily as the epicenter and reason for being of every stereotype in this world (“baciamo, giuda, baciami”; “I'm the mischievous girl who wants to be tossed around”, “I pretended not to care about you to make myself more interesting but now I really, really, really, really do”). What Secret does is try to do with jazz melody what Consoli does/did with pop-rock.

I quite like "prove yourself." In general, I agree with you. It's strange, but I find it easier to listen to this rather than "the bends" or "ok computer": in those albums I KNOW that they are Radiohead... their songs are so damn them that I could never make them mine... can you imagine a pub band covering "fake plastic trees" or "paranoid android"? Or "airbag"?
