If the debut album was already a pleasant surprise in itself, 'Fidate Correnti' makes Ivan Segreto one of the most exciting artists on the Italian scene.

Let's start by describing the album as a whole and then "walking through" it track by track. "Vola lontano" gives an idea of how to listen to this album. It leaves three words in the mind that explain everything: Light, catchy, shaded green. Then, when you fly for the first time, you have nothing but trust in the current that carries you… "Fidate correnti" puts us in harmony with events, it digs into our soul to find the lost dream. The one that lays bare our soul. "Tingerei in verde" and "ridestinato" are two tracks united by the freedom of being that meets the artist in the desire to live life. The sounds are cheerful in the first song, as if infused with hope. And reflective in the second. "Allegra compagnia" sweeps away thoughts to make room for the will to be captured by the positivity of small moments. To consider the glass half full, regardless of everything. Here we have arrived in my opinion, flying through thoughts and songs, to a place that the artist wants to bring to earth. "Juninho"… who could it refer to??? What if it were an angel glimpsed along the way? Nothing, the journey continues because the currents force us to move forward. And it's "just confusion".

Because love is like that.

It can be banal and complex, frenetic and furious, synthetic and washed out. But finding the culprit of this disorder of ours… it's impossible. Now let's think for a moment that night has fallen. And that we and our self find ourselves in front of boundless expanses of sand. "Deserto D'africa" digs into this desert to find the fantasy of a place feared but at the same time existing, fatal but still alive. The desert as introspection of our self which we sometimes consider worthless. A desert indeed. And it is "Ego" that carries forward this desolating clarity. The guitar strums and doesn't let the traveler be at peace, and we who are 'listening' to our journey accept the tears, which in a desert can only make it bloom. Tears that are not sadness. Our self that learns to love itself. "Annie" is the result of this truth. The drums accompany the always deep voice of the singer who meanwhile realizes that we can't help but let ourselves be carried away by love. Sensing how a woman can make everything more gentle. A burden that becomes lighter, a sky bluer. Oh yes, with this song you can fall in love again. Even if then Annie is so difficult to find in the reality of what we see with our eyes. Finally, we close this journey with a question, a reflection that the artist poses to himself and makes us ask ourselves the same. "Contrasto" closes the album but does not put an end to our flight which gets lost in the essence and the aspired eternity.

So to conclude, "Fidate correnti" doesn't belong to a well-defined musical genre because it essentially corresponds to a particular state of mind of ours where the music silently accompanies the singer’s wonderful voice. And I would rate it 4 just to be consistent. There is hope that another melody exists that can comfort my soul. The true sense of music.
