Oasis Dig Out Your Soul

Nice review.. as for the album.. well, my rating is 2.6, which becomes a 3, alright... so, the start is really good, no complaints until I'm outta time, which for me is the best track on the album. High horse lady?? I hate the way it was produced, the rhythm definitely grabs you, but quality is another story... Falling down and to be where there's life I really like, but it's with the last 3 songs that it hits rock bottom. I think these three songs are the lowest point ever reached by Oasis; if I had to pick the worst, I’d say ain't got nothing, and perhaps the most listenable one is the nature of reality. I don't understand those who confidently say this is better than don't believe the truth.. come on, that was a good album. In short, you can't say that Dig out your soul is a masterpiece, but neither is it total crap because there are some good things in it.

Come on, 2 out of 5 for this album?? Just April alone boosts the score dramatically, but overall we’re on good levels, come on! I won't give it a 5, but I’d give it a 4!! Of course, one might be inclined to give it a 3 because it brings to mind comparisons with the mk2 albums, but that’s something that SHOULD NOT be done in my opinion.

But how bad is the initial arpeggio of 'the day that never comes'?? Anyway, all nightmare long is terrifying!!

I definitely agree with you... the genuineness of the original three is completely absent! I went to the cinema very eager to see this fourth film, and as it went on, my level of disappointment kept rising... until the spaceship scene where I was completely let down!
The other sad thing is that this movie seems like a copy of The Da Vinci Code / National Treasure, excellent films that were clearly at least partly derived from the previous three Indiana Jones films... so to think that this Indiana Jones is in some ways a copy of its own copy is even more depressing...

14 reviews are too many for an album like this..

very beautiful record that can be appreciated also for its calmness; in my opinion, the cleanliness and touch of Johnson are much better than the virtuosities of various Ibanez distortion and whammy bar boys; Manhattan is a piece of elegance that truly... lonely in the night and song for Lynette should have been mentioned!!

there are so many reviews that you don’t know which one to comment on to rate the album... Review stradiparte
in my opinion this is definitely not their masterpiece; light years away from killers, seventh son, piece of mind and powerslave...really! there are episodes with various flaws like gangland, run to the hills (which has never impressed me that much) invaders doesn’t convince me much... anyway, it's a great album for sure... helped by the presence of hallowed be thy name, that’s true, a masterpiece.

The review is quite good, even though I don't fully agree with the logical thread, but good!
The album is spectacular, at times superior to the production with Gabriel, in my opinion. "Afterglow" is an excellent closing track for this album, preceded by one of the best instrumentals ever (the transitions in the final part are amazing). "Your Own Special Way," although it approaches that commercially driven style so despised by early Genesis and so loved by the later ones, remains beautiful! The start with "Eleventh" is perfect, and "One for the Vine" has an interlude that only progressive minds like theirs could conceive. It’s my favorite after "A Trick of the Tail," perhaps on par with "Selling England."
