Thank you, Deneil... I didn't mean to make rankings... If I had to do something rigorous, I would follow what Under said... but I’m actually too attached to Litfiba from "A Satana" to "Cangaceiro" (included? I'm not sure)... and I like them enough up to Terremoto (the rest are postage stamps) not to place them in the first spot... thanx!

Deneil, your review is excellent! Every time I ask my peers, and worse, my male peers to name a song by Litfiba and they respond with "il mio corpo che si smerda," I get teary-eyed and start talking about the only Italian album that, recorded in the studio, for me approaches perfection... sometimes I take Desaparecido and play it from the beginning to listen to all the songs... when you talked about the songs, you said something true: how can you choose the most beautiful one???? I just wish you had mentioned Tziganata... my favorite, but oh well, I’m biased!!!! BRAVO! It would have stood out on Debaser much more than so many reviews written by who knows what rock experts!

Hey Grant, thanks for the vote and the interest. I'm responding to everyone a bit. The disadvantage of Litfiba has been—like I believe it has been for many bands—that they have been on the scene for so long that they had many opportunities to demonstrate their greatness but also chances to make mistakes, and they took advantage of all those too. In his autobiography, Pelù talks about a series of "Ghigocentrismi" carried out by the chubby guitarist—whom I still appreciate—in the final years of their career, while Ghigo, in the interesting book "A Denti Stretti" by Federico Guglielmi, speaks of a totally Pelù-centric view. Pelù himself said that Ghigo almost recognized him as the leader of a band that the Florentine singer owes a lot to, until the very end. We will never know what the absolute truth is. It’s obvious that each one, as much as they analyze their own lives lucidly, must defend their actions. To each their own, right? It is true therefore that Pelù expresses himself according to his own way of thinking, just as it is true that the book "A Denti Stretti" features a cover photo of only Renzulli (heh!). Pelù claims that Ghigo "no longer trusted" him since the making of the album Infinito, and he has never gotten over that, just as Ghigo has stated on more than one occasion his aversion to the way the national Pierone sings (after all, that’s what makes the difference)... I see the reunion as a distant possibility, and anyway, not too pleasant, unless Ringo were resurrected and Maroccolo returned—THOSE ARE THE LITFIBA, IS IT CLEAR?

As for the post-Pelù Litfiba, I find them also acceptable, but certain choices are absolutely unlikely: first of all, Cabo plainly and badly imitates Pelù's very personal style; secondly, certain old songs should remain intact and not be so ruined (just check out Guerra by the new Litfiba performed live... a disgrace!)... Regarding the underground situation, it’s definitely promising... I know the Scaramouche and others, and I recommend everyone visit Home - Rockambula the problem is that day by day the situation of what was the best band in Italy (the CCCp and Diaframma have never convinced me like L'Italia Firenze via dei Bardi 32!) is getting worse... if they had crashed in a plane accident right after Litfiba 3 or at the latest after Terremoto, today they would all be legends!

I'm sorry Bubi, but I was away for three days... well, what I wanted to do, others have already done... to say that after listening to a few Litfiba songs you really didn't like them means you listened to the worst... and if A DENTI STRETTI can include Regina di Cuori, Toro Loco, and the others, those are authentic crap born from commerce and not from the desire to renew themselves, because within the group, tired of Ghigo, there was no longer a desire to be incisive... Piero Pelù himself, almost apologizing for his recent honeyed singing style, says this in his biography that I recently read... one last thing: absolutely download DESAPARECIDO 17 RE8 (which I don’t know why doesn’t excite me too much) and THIS LIVE... the rest is little or nothing... sorry for the delay, see you!

Cornell haven't really split up... they simply started making music that isn't exceptional but up until Terreniti it was listenable by..... for BUBI.... can you please tell me what songs you've listened to? Then I'll tell you.

I just came to debaser to read the other review of APRITE I VOSTRI OCCHI and I found a new one... wow!
Anyway, regarding the review, I can say that if your task was to entice someone to buy it, you would have miserably failed, because the commentary on the songs is fundamental (what kind of review is it otherwise?)... from the quotes—like the one about the unfortunate tour of 17 Re—I’m glad to notice that you also have Pelù's PERFETTO DIFETTOSTO biography... As for the album, I can say it’s exactly my favorite album, and with Eroe nel vento and Istambul it would have been perfect... but even with the magic of TZIGANATA (my favorite song), the rage of CANE (amazing!), the opening of FERITO (legendary), and the bass in COME UN DIO (!) this album is irresistible... I recommend everyone to buy it!
