Dear Rerito, I didn't criticize "The Departed"; I simply said that the Oscar (for what it's worth) would have been more deserved for "Goodfellas." While I liked Scorsese's latest film, it doesn't seem to reach the heights of this and at least another ten of his works. Let's just say that the Academy had to give him recognition eventually; however, I don't think they picked the best moment, considering that, if I'm not mistaken, it was his sixth nomination...

Hi 47, what do you mean by recurring themes? Because if you’re talking about music, I might agree, but if you’re talking about themes, lyrics, and related iconography, I don’t agree at all. You compartmentalize too much, Primiballi. No one questions the value of the '60s or '70s, but finding the '90s completely forgettable is, in my opinion, a rather superficial observation. I'm not here to make a shopping list, but there are, in my view, countless memorable albums from that decade. Moreover, try to be a little less smug, because that "I-know-it-all" attitude doesn't suit a gentleman like you at all. ;-)
P.S. I'm not twenty...
