Thank you both! I think all three of his feature films are masterpieces: certainly "Allegro non Troppo" is the most mature while this one still shows some naivety, but perhaps because it’s among the animated films that sparked my passion for drawn and animated art, I place it at the top. Bye.

There are many reasons why I love this film: for how the sky of Paris is photographed, for Tiersen's soundtrack, for Tautou who is simply beautiful, for Kassovitz’s punchable yet highly effective face, for the optimistic dimension that comes from portraying a fairytale universe while embedding everyday problems and anxieties, because it captures so well certain familiarities that resonate with us who were born in the '70s, for the story of the garden gnome, etc., etc. So many that I can’t be truly objective, understanding even those who will tear it apart because this is more about "affinity" than logic or taste. A delightful review.

dysgraphia: before "cause" there should be a "I am not a" and not "I am just a"

Indeed, Tele: the fault does not lie with the Ultras (even though I despise stadium extremism) because they are merely a cause rather than a consequence, and not just of a sick football system but of this sick society. Vendrame said he played football only for the money, and in this his "unpleasant" honesty, he didn't hesitate to point a finger at the system, anticipating a first collapse (the first "Totonero" scandal) because his "playing for the money" was just a way to defuse the excessive expectations and seriousness demanded from the game. I prefer him for saying it directly than many today's "heroes" who spout ethical judgments and clichés when the only thing that truly matters to them is the (show)business revolving around the ball.

I would also include Savoini in your list, Paolo, and to mention another one who has been both under the Berici and in the shadow of Vesuvius, also Luis Vinicio.

Holy Words, Tele, Vendrame's career has been dotted with countless episodes in all the teams he played for, besides Vicenza, Padova, and Napoli (where he played very little). There were SPAL, Siena, Rovereto, Torres (for a very short time), and many situations that would now be unthinkable in the world of football. For example, in Vicenza, he once found himself alone on a counterattack, and instead of advancing, he literally stood on the ball and made the gesture of someone scanning the horizon to see if there were free teammates...
Moreover, being the rebellious and wandering spirit he was, he was a precursor to the modern roaming of today's players. But everywhere, more or less, he left a definite mark (not out of local pride, also because I don’t support Lane; although as a citizen, I am obviously happy when they win). Just to say, aside from my historical support for WHU, I am among the few Vicentini who also have sympathy for Hellas. Not being able to go often to watch my chosen team “live,” I “vent” my passion by alternating matches at the Menti with those at the Bentegodi. His three seasons in Serie A with Vicenza were the peak of his competitive career, and the sources I referred to come from within the Beric society, and I think they are reliable. ;-)
