Radiohead OK Computer

Very, very interesting discussion. Mr_Iko, Rivo, LOR15, congratulations and thank you for being intelligent people; it’s nice to see that there are some, as one learns and grows. Condor, Fede, and the supporters of the muse, I think you’re too young to have fully conscious ideas about the Olympus of music; don’t take offense, I’m not saying this out of arrogance, but because I’m just a few years older than you, so I direct this to myself as well! From a historical perspective, Radiohead said something with Ok Computer, though very little compared to the "sacred monsters" mentioned by Mr_Iko. I love that album and find it natural to consider it a milestone, just as I find it natural to see flaws in it that legitimize not appreciating it. However, I was surprised that in the discussion Rivo and LOR15 limited themselves to judging OKC poorly without explaining why (besides a few sentences). As long as it’s not done purely out of a contrarian principle (which the lack of explanations from Rivo and LOR15 leads me to think), I find it entirely correct (unlike Mr_Iko) to express unflattering personal opinions about works that are universally considered beautiful. After listening to Hail To The Thief (which still falls short of OKC), for example, I think I can say that Thom Yorke's voice is far more beautiful in the latter: angrier, more varied, more expressive, more astonishing.

dEUS Worst Case Scenario

Okay, I give in to the temptation to comment on this wonderful review. I didn't want to do it out of 'arrogance' since I consider myself the biggest dEUS fan in Italy (if you want, I can tell you the name of Stef Kamil's dog or the name of the greengrocer under Tom Barman's house in Antwerp), but we're talking about the gods and I can't hold back. In short: WCS is magnificent and probably yes, it's their best... but please don't underestimate In A Bar Under The Sea or The Ideal Crash, and not even My Sister = My Clock which is something phenomenal. ...Okay, enough, I need to write a review for each of them. (LOR15 the 4 is only because when you wrote it you didn't know that skc yelled Friday 159 times... and because you mistreat the other albums)

Cleo, you’re really amazing... I’m not a fan of Polly Jean, but you make me want to listen to her again.

Yes, I have all the originals... the style is always the same, but IAWL is a bit more elaborate; there are no more ballads, just acoustic guitar and voice as you find in the others. Let's say that on a scale of "bare sounds," the albums decrease over time. Good Morning Spider, the second one, is on average the one I love the least, but it has some incredible peaks like Saint Mary. The Excel sheet... :-) ...is my obsession; I love music, it fills my life, and I can't resist the urge to categorize (see favorite bands in the biography section).

I am very undecided between the first and the last. My Excel sheet "ranking calculations and other funny things" tells me that I prefer It's A Wonderful Life but I don't know if I should believe it.

I recently discovered them... DBTD is the album I'm listening to the most these days, really great, especially for someone like me who loves the genre! I would define them as "grandaddy meets dEUS"... great evening!

Ok! I would like to wear the black t-shirt with dEUS written on it, but unfortunately I have to wash it. I'll put on the one from Grandaddy instead.
