THE REVIEW

These are just notes of piano and strings, sometimes soft, sometimes vibrant. And everything is inside.
There is the paradox of Art, uselessness and salvation.

Schoenberg and Pärt, Beethoven and Messiaen.
Ice and lava, stillness and movement, calculation and intuition, caress and jolt, detachment and rebellion, imperfection and allure, the ancient and the modern, waiting and thrill, conflict and harmony, boundary and center. The screams and the silence. Time and eternity.

Words, images, forms. Kiefer, Esterházy, Michelangelo, anguish and strength, weakness and nobility, power and mercy.

There is the paradox of Man, death and love.
Nothing more than this.

Music, like life itself, is inconceivable without romanticism. Romanticism is a high dream of the past, present, and future - a force of invincible beauty which towers above, and conquers, the forces of ignorance, bigotry, violence, and evil. (Giya Kancheli)
