I’m trying to listen to it these days (in the midst of dozens of other albums, I’ll never make it, Barry you’re right, they’re making us work too hard here!)... at first glance, it doesn’t tell me much, unfortunately. Enryka, you write very well, although I don't agree on the "experimental" songs (come on, experimental?)... however, I completely agree with you about the voice (unlike easy... oh easy...), it's always incredibly beautiful; elsewhere I've written that it's a "melancholic inside" tone and I just can’t describe it any other way. On its own, Stipe's voice is worth at least 2 points out of 5. I reserve the right to rate the album later! Greetings Enryka, welcome.

@puglia: when I said "lagnosa," I was referring to the voice, not the song - @easy: for Sebadoh, ask lukin who is really into them, I only have the self-titled album and aside from two or three songs, it doesn't impress me much; Dinosaur Jr is definitely better!

Eh eh, how cool... Are you provoking me? Let's talk about it then. I won't even respond to those who say that "for him, a blasphemy is like a 'damn dog', since he doesn't believe": I don’t think he considers himself the only man on Earth, and there are people who believe (millions!!!), and showing them disrespect doesn’t seem particularly elegant to me.
Instead, I will reply to those who wrote: "those who believe in God shouldn't let themselves be disturbed by those who don't care about God." I believe in God, Turkish (not the Turkish God, okay?), and my faith isn't shaken by blasphemies (it takes more than that): they annoy me, sure, I mostly feel sorry for those who blaspheme, but it's not like I lose sleep over it. But that's not the point.
Okay, forget the fact that I'm a believer; let's stay in the human realm. You say you are offended by metal records and Italian TV and, I imagine, you consider them harmful forms of communication for society. At this point, one could also ask if you do anything to counteract these 'evils' or if you just limit yourself to protecting yourself... but that's another discussion.
I believe that being able to freely read trash that disrespects millions of people is harmful because it spreads a view that everyone can disrespect whomever they want, everyone can overpower whomever they want, as long as they shout louder. So I try to counter it: in this specific case (since I don't have the power to censor it), by ignoring the idiot (and maybe asking others to do so), because idiots will keep going if you react, but if you ignore them, they don't have fun anymore.

Hehe, damn, of course they lack energy, they’re super down and a little sick too; you should hear the way he sings that he "feels the pain of everyone" (Feel The Pain), it’s a disgusting drag and I like it a lot :))) Nice review! I’ll rate the band even though I’ve never listened to this album.

Thank you, Nani. And thanks also to Alessandro, who speaks so well of the youth of the Gioventù Sonica :)

...it's true, it's in Milan on November 29, together with Mercury Rev... I guess that means I'll have to endure it just to enjoy the dreams of Jonathan & Grasshopper :) As for the debate on art, I repeat, the fact that the judgment is unanimous does not exclude that it is objective: if I, you, Hal, and the whole world agree on Michelangelo, that doesn't prevent anyone from thinking differently. That's all. Best regards.

Have you ever noticed the absurd names and surnames Tom Waits uses for the characters in his albums? Saginaw Calinda, Joel Tornabene, Zenora Beriella, Coriander Pyle, Mr. Stitcha... :-)))

He he, interesting, here we confuse the spread (or even unanimity) of a personal judgment with the existence of an objective judgment in itself, interesting, yes yes.

Thank you GoodLuck :) a review I didn't expect :D and that gives the right credit to these very young guys from Varese. I can't resist, sorry, I have to mention Sparklehorse again to enrich the array of references for the voice and music of the Midwest... lucky them, what voices...
