Hi zaireeka, it’s a true stroke of luck that there are two conflicting reviews of the same album; that’s part of what makes DeBaser so great! Sugary, pompous, and baroque—definitely (but attaching a negative connotation to these terms is a matter of taste); flat, however, doesn’t seem accurate to me at all (well, more so than "Deserter's Songs," which is indeed far better). PS Preciao: as for Dave Fridmann, my "recently" didn’t mean "only recently," of course. Bye!

Hal, listen closely to that little record I sent you some time ago, the one by Moondog Jr... it's still our Stef, and you can't not like that album. Well, if you don't like it, explain to me why :)

Always very late, I... good what! If it weren't for the people who don't understand irony, there would be no fun in being ironic. Or maybe it was sarcasm? Who knows. Anyway, I'm commenting now because after picking their "Transatlanticism" clean to the bone, I've just started exploring this album... only I can't shake off the last track of "Transatlanticism," which is A Lack Of Color. I've been listening to it for 19 hours straight now. Incredible. Can you write a review of a song?

The samples are beautiful... but the words were convincing too, oh. Hal, I must tell you that seeing Stefano Bollani play Gershwin perhaps, finally, was the spark I was waiting for to dive into this kind of sounds. Thanks especially to all your reviews :) thanx

Hal, you understood perfectly even though, to avoid being overly lengthy, I refrained from detailing the analysis of the album, preferring to draw a parallel with the book :) thanks to everyone, especially the sweet malvasìaca zzz for the disclaimer...

He he Caz, you're right! :) Well, actually, zzz, you can tell Mrs. Luisa that I heard the Interpolli right after reading the Condor review, without having read any magazines... and I didn't like them (but what can you do, it's just my taste - you know, the '80s... Joy Division...). Tell Mrs. Luisa to take that CD out of Muji's stereo too ;-P

zzz, there is a misunderstanding. My sentence "I haven't passed judgment on them because they are hyped by magazines" did not mean "they are hyped by magazines, so I didn't want to express a judgment," but rather "the judgment I've made about them (namely that they are groups-cipria, ndjosi) does not stem from the fact that they are hyped by magazines." I was unclear, sorry.

I arrived a bit late... I just wanted to say that I really like BJs. Some do them well and some do them less well, but it's always worth putting in the effort to get a BJ. (PS antimo, you seriously tried with those two, I admire you more than you know)
