It took a review on this album, good job easy. Even though I can't fall in love with Yo La Tengo, I adore their disenchanted mood, and I devoured this album // When I heard the knock on the door
I couldn't catch my breath
Is it too late to call this off
We could slip away, wouldn't that be better
Me with nothing to say, and you in your autumn sweater
I tried my best to hide
In a crowded room, it's nearly possible
I wait for you, oh, most patiently
So I looked for your eyes
And the waves looked like they'd pour right out of them
I'll try hard, I'll try always
But it's a waste of time
It's a waste of time if I can't smile easily
Like in the beginning
In the beginning...

Omissis, you have expressed quite well what I wanted to say. Who do I have to thank? Who took the words right out of my mouth? But above all, were they moist with saliva?

Well, you mentioned "media bombardment," and it felt like I was reading a review of Franz Ferdinand or Bloc Party, and I got a bit scared :) There's a tendency to bite around here, oh. I'll be sure not to put anything in your mouth ;)

I really liked "The Tiger and the Snow." It has the strength of innocence in being so unabashedly poetic and about love. And I believe it couldn't be discussed in a better and less rhetorical way, connecting back to what zaireeka says. And well, Tom's presence on the piano is touching :) Yes, I would also walk the streets of Pomona saying, "You know, I'm Italian, like Roberto Benigni." Two greats. Sorry Claudio for the off-topic comments (but are they really?), but that's how it works on DeB ;) ...also because, saying non-trivial things about "Rain Dogs" is very difficult.

Terms aside, lucabbrasi, you'll admit there's a difference between a Blue album and a Colossamite one. Now, assuming that any term/label is inaccurate if used improperly and that it's difficult to find a common criterion for all music, I would say that it's generally possible to distinguish an album produced with a predominant focus on its appeal to a broad audience, aimed at the widest possible commercialization, from an album produced with a predominant attention to one's artistic intents (without this necessarily excluding commercial viability, of course: take, for instance, Jimi Hendrix). Great day? Or should I try again and hope to be more fortunate?

Here, Antimo, if you mention the colossamite here, then you really mean me harm! I re-quote your Flying Luttenbachers!

I'm replying to this review regarding the issue raised on Bjork's review. In this case, I agree with you: it's a 3-star album, with a few high points (very high: like Last Time We Spoke, I'm Going To Stop..., Checkout Blues) but weighed down by too many formulaic tracks that mimic the inspiration of "Electro-shock Blues." This, which (from both sides) is a balanced judgment, you present as a harsh critique, attacking the music criticism world as if we were flooded with Mr.E covers in NME (if only...): here’s the “against” attitude at all costs that might annoy some. Not me, just to be clear; I like how you write even though it’s no longer newsworthy :-P
