Fink Biscuits For Breakfast

great disc and review... I just discovered that even though I don't understand a thing about what it is - you can get lost in the mazes of myspace - despite the apocalyptic ugliness of its pages! fink seems to be touring with zero7, but not for their Italian dates; at villa arconati, matthew herbert will be with them. if anyone finds additional info, it would be appreciated...
Carmen Consoli Eva Contro Eva

I loved and love Carmen in all her imperfection and obstinacy, whatever the results may be, but I fully agree with what I read here (and I laugh quite a bit!) yet I can't help but keep loving her and her music just the same. It may be that my Italian professor back then also told me that I wrote some pretty substantial essays... considerable, to say the least.

phenomenal! I spent an entire holiday on the Amalfi Coast listening to the cassette in my blue hundred and twenty-seven! :D
The Cure Live in Taormina - 20 Agosto '05

Yes, I was there too and I can confirm it was a beautiful concert, perhaps also an undeniable commercial operation but truly well-executed... The Cure are my adolescence and for me they represent the discovery of the possibility to choose the music one wants to listen to... Plus, going with my old friends was simply a great emotion... And for more than three hours, dad josi_ was patiently waiting outside for little magomarcelo to give it his all...

I loved Fever To Tell, especially Maps, without too many hype influences to like them. I believe this second album deserves a second listen before being dismissed like that. Karen O is not just any Juliette Lewis (singer, since I really miss the actress from Natural Born Killers and Strange Days...)

Hi Vaniglia, what a pleasure to see you again! I went to see them in Milan, but they cut the encore for unspecified reasons and they appeared a bit smug, to be honest... However, while it lasted, we danced and had fun, especially with that unreleased track in the DFA-Rapture style, even though unfortunately I lacked something that left me completely satisfied... just like with DCFC and Arab Strap, by the way... The Depeche Mode did significantly better this time, mainstream clearly beats indie ;).

Nice review, I really liked the description of the "context"; the only song I actually remember by them is "Here's Where The Story End," which I consider a perfect pop single, a nice earworm back then...

"The Bottle" is one of the most beautiful songs to dance to of all time, praise to Paul Weller and all the acid jazz that came from it, and to Socrates for this recommendation, definitely worth exploring.
