Hi guys, the comment that struck me the most is undying's; I believe it summarizes a bit of the spirit of all the others, and maybe that’s why FIDIA (=maximum respect) somewhat criticized the review, but I think this is more of a "farewell" to a crazy old genius who self-exiled and is never forgotten by those who truly love MUSIC, like those of us writing here. So, in the spirit of the page, I greet everyone with a cliché "keep shining, crazy diamond."

A very particular album; at the time, it took me a while to "understand" it, as I was used to their previous works. Compared to those, this one is definitely lesser but also the most distinct, with a sound that will remain uniquely recognizable in this body of work. I've appreciated it more as I've grown and cultivated my musical taste than I did immediately. It's different, there's no denying that, and its charm lies precisely in this. The cover: I remember reading an interview at the time when the Police explained that those three symbols are nothing other than representations of themselves as processed by a computer where they had entered their physical and generic data. In short, it’s how the computer (and we’re talking about software from the early '80s) perceived them. The one in the center is Sting, wearing a crown on his head, like a Prima Donna... The first one on the right is Copeland, the tallest, but I can't recall the other identifying symbols. I hope I’ve been clear; I’m a bit dazed from the office... The review is beautiful.

Thank you all, both authenticated and not, for your contribution. Night, did you really have to think about it for a whole day to come up with such a response? My compliments, you are witty and brilliant as well as extremely refined. You know, I thought about it, and in the end, I think I should humbly apologize for having offended your good taste and for daring to review such a sublime work so horrendously that it couldn’t tolerate critiques and opinions from Treccani, which only you can provide, as you continuously demonstrate. However, I also thought that in the end, you can always address all this bad taste by choosing to take your royal backside elsewhere and leave us poor common beggars in our pen of ignorance and mediocrity. Yes, I think that’s how it should be. Lastly, I’m truly sorry that they took it out on your mother, even for feminine pride; she doesn’t deserve that much. She’s already so endearing as it is. A warm greeting, your trusted acidic one. P.S.: Antonio, I hope, in light of all this, you understand why your above comment wasn't a great idea; it didn’t require particular foresight, it’s not about being acidic but about common sense, which is NOT overflowing here, and I hope you understand why I didn’t want to respond to you immediately and why I won’t respond to ANY posts on this page in the future. Regards. I almost forgot the smile ;-)

Like you, I have the vinyl; in original CD I only have "Catastrophe", which I searched for a long time in many stores.. If you are satisfied with a simple "copy" of this, let me know.....

Um.. yes, Qzerty, I was saying that I still listen to Christian Death today and I was asking you if you also have Catatrophe Ballet.. I also have the EP of "When I was BEd" with a German cover of a song by Marlene Dietrich, very beautiful..

And three! I told you I'm going to read them all now. Like Frantz, I played this record so much back in the day that I actually flattened its grooves! Favorite track besides (of course) Rain: Brother Wolf, S.M. But I got through it quickly, in the sense that I burned through it along with the period, unlike other artists like Siouxsie, Bauhaus, and Christian Death that I still listen to today. By the way, QZERTY, what do you have from that last group you mentioned in the post? Surely Catastrophe Ballet, I suppose...

No no Fidia, read carefully: it says NEVER indifferent but NEVER indispensable...

Fidia... I think I'm going to read all your reviews now. So, Bauhaus has always been one of my teenage loves and not just that since exactly a year ago I got DUST by Peter Murphy, which I recommend to anyone who loves his voice and musicality.. I have nearly all of their LPs, including some EPs released by 4AD and an extended play of the Ziggy Stardust cover by Bowie, which I bought on sale in London.. But the one that truly makes my heart resonate more than any other work is Burning From the Inside, which I believe has a unique balance and refinement, and perhaps a more pronounced melancholy than elsewhere; in fact, this is perhaps their "least angry" album and maybe that's why I love it the most. Even the circus music of KING VOLCANO has a certain grotesque yet sublime quality that can trip me out. And then there's Mr. Moonlight that completely melts me like snow in the sun... Wow Fidia, what memories you're bringing up...

Hi Fidia, great review, I read it all in one breath; and the curiosities start flowing: back then I liked their, let’s call them, predecessors, but I never bought anything from their production, I was more into the Lords of the New Church and the Cult you mentioned.. the Sisters and the Mission always stayed there for me, never indifferent but never essential.. A question: I remember a track titled "Love is like the wing of a Butterfly on a wheel," was that them? I know back then I went crazy for this song even though it was quite commercial.. Can you confirm the authorship? Another question: MARIAN, are we talking about the same cover redone in the '80s by Wyatt, in the '90s by Donà and Ginevra Di Marco, and now by Nouvelle Vague? Because I have them all and I was wondering who the original genius was; which album is it on? Finally, for Repulisti: perhaps with that uppercase you give the impression of being a bit aggressive.. ;-) Hi everyone
