the alice is the alice... but how nice it will be in those old pics with that shit-eating grin, the kilometer-long nose, the sweaty hair, the leather jacket and the garters... nice review, it gets me all hyped up just right as the last vision of this workday... I turn off the computer and I’m off to endure the long-awaited Friday night... and I, who wanted to get lost in klaus schulze...

almost as if I want to take some sandpaper and rub it hard on my forehead, so I can unbaptize myself and finally return to my pre-Christian innocence. And not give in to Christ's blackmail, who allowed himself to be crucified just to forgive us. Arrogantly demanding our gratitude, inventing guilt, the feeling of guilt, and everything that followed...

the percussive attitude, the reiteration, the neuroses, the noisy excursions, the hallucinatory atmospheres, the creaks, the sparse sound, the urban decay, new york (limited to the velvet)...more generally I group them in the melting pot of rock that is tinged with an avant-garde attitude...in short, I’m not saying they sound exactly the same, but it seems to me they belong to the same slice of the big cake of rock music...simplifications aside, the concept is that I don’t see in liars all that innovative potential that would make one cry miracle or consecrate them in big letters in the history of music...

Alright, the summary, but I could have written this review too, even though I wasn't there...oh my, I should stay quiet because I’m the king of verbosity, but when one reads a review, they expect something more than just what they already know. But beyond that, I’m here primarily to say that in my opinion, we’ll forget about the Liars soon enough...an honest group, but they don’t make me shout miracle...the Wolf Eyes are on another planet, while if I feel like listening to stuff like this, I’d rather dig up the Birthday Party, rightly mentioned, but also Can, Faust, or even the Velvet Underground, the fathers of it all...or maybe the Killing Joke with "What's This For...!", why not? Also, giving 2 to Tool and 4 to Liars seems like a rather forced stance...there, they flaunt technique, here they flaunt easy noise-making...the problem is that back then, they made rock history in the '90s, they said something new, and today, while not at the same level, they continue to release albums that are unattainable for anyone else in the scene. Here instead, we get the rock pretenders of this miserable season we are living through. You know what I think? Throbbing Gristle forever: Act Two - The Endless Not album of the year!

A curiosity: was this that album that went down in history because you can put the tracks on random and every time get a different song that makes sense?

I'm not convinced either... I've heard OV, maybe I could dedicate more attention to them and find great things (which there's certainly bound to be)... but after a while of listening to them, it feels like time is being wasted... they don't grab me... much better, although completely different, a Catch 33 by Meshuggah, which is also based on repetition and micro-variations. These guys are autistic, to be respected nonetheless because they believe in what they do, and they do it well and professionally... for a few...

why only 4? it’s one of the most spontaneous moments in rock, the fresco of a soul, of a genius in disintegration... its limits are evident (but maybe that’s what’s beautiful about it!), it may disappoint those used to the grandiosity of pink floyd, but in the realm of songwriting, it’s a milestone, on par, if not beyond, drake and cohen... to be supported for the rest of our days!

Thank you, poet, but I think the problem mainly lies in the difficult availability of Current albums... I mean, it's hard for discussions to arise about little-known bands, and I completely understand the disinterest in albums that are unlikely to be found or even downloaded... one comments also to talk, to express their opinion, simply to pass the time, which is why people usually prefer to discuss more well-known artists... saying that a review is good or bad is somewhat a self-serving game... it's art that we should be talking about... anyway, thanks for the kind words.

or why, the presentation of Flag of Hate, when it repeats eight times it's time to raise the flag of hate?

Well, fuck it, it’s clear that too many exclamations can be annoying: what I meant to say is that the thousand drives me nuts, the bullshit about aggression always comes before extreme aggression...he just stands there, looks around, sniffs the air, shakes his head, and smugly says: "there's some aggression in the air" (even though the situation is actually super calm...in fact, maybe someone is yelling "petrozza merdallaro!!!"), then he takes a big breath and screams EXTRIIIMMM AGGRESSCIONNN!!! (with a thousand exclamations!)...all in all, some good moments.
