AA.VV. Platoon (Soundtrack)
Voto:
Winning 4 Oscars is not necessarily a sign of quality, of course, and there has been much better representations of Vietnam in cinema (does "Apocalypse Now" ring any bells? And "Full Metal Jacket"?). Nonetheless, I remember the soundtrack fondly.

Dave, still Madonna?
Laura Pausini Io Canto
Voto:
Laura Pausini is not an artist; she is a miracle of show business, heavily favored by the everlasting Pippo Baudo. The choice of songs is terrible, all trash, except for the immortal masterpiece by Battisti. But Battisti was a genius; Pausini is not. Hearing her butcher such a song sends chills of horror down your spine.
Metallica Reload
Voto:
Yes, but at least the correct title; it's not "Reload," it's "Re Load." That's what they say on Google, but I don't know, and who even knows this album?

The tribute to Piero Ciampi is an exquisite delight, and as a debut, it's one of the best in Italy in the last twenty years, even though "Crocevia" is their masterpiece.
Bruce Springsteen Darkness on the edge of town
Voto:
This is History with a capital H.
The Rolling Stones Tattoo You
Voto:
DaveJonGilmour, let's say that after Springsteen, the Beatles, Ramones, and Clash, you've also criticized the Rolling Stones. Now, you've trashed all the singers or bands (or icons, if we want) listened to by practically almost the entire world's population. But you say they're terrible. This seems like an absolutely outstanding revelation, and wasting it here on DeBaser seems foolish, but why not share it with the whole world? Wouldn't that be more fruitful? You could make loads of money, or you might get kicked in the balls a lot, but either way, you'd be successful. Come on, sitting here trashing people on DeBaser is something even the dimwits can do; it takes an intelligent person to share their thoughts (not to mention revelatory) with the world. What are you waiting for? If you want, I can help you.
Iron Maiden Maiden Japan
Voto:
But should this album be a nod, at least in the title, to "Made in Japan" by Deep Purple? If so, that would be grounds for a lawsuit. Anyway, Kirk89, what the hell are 'errori lessicchalli,' or maybe you meant 'errori lessicali'?
Green Day American Idiot
Voto:
Well, the Green Day were pretty good ten years ago or so, today I don't know. I mean, I liked "Kerplunk" too, but they seemed a bit fake to me already. Pretty good, indeed.
Depeche Mode The Best of
Voto:
There are some beautiful Greatest Hits that have made history, such as the one from 1972 by Simon & Garfunkel, or the more recent ones by Elton John and Paolo Conte. I don’t know this one, I know very little about Depeche Mode, but it’s not fair to say that all greatest hits are not artistically valid. As for the mere commercial operation, I repeat, what’s the point of making songs if not to make money? Or do you still believe in the story of the artist who composes verses only for fame?
