Nirvana Mtv Unplugged In New York
Voto:
Sorry, I voted without expressing my opinion on this unplugged. It’s definitely not a masterpiece; I bought it out of curiosity. Curiosity about listening to Nirvana sitting down: imagining Kurt not screaming like a madman with an electric guitar, or Dave being more gentle with his beats. Well! Let’s admit it, it’s nice, but I believe this goes against the idea we have of Nirvana, and so, perhaps not entirely, but for a good part, this album is commercial. Bye ;D

You still need to explain your idea of "solo," since, as you may have noticed, I am not the only one who protested your statement...

Nice review, but I don't agree with your comments on the lyrics. At the beginning, you say they sum up the life of a rockstar "sex, drugs, and rock n' roll," and then you claim the lyrics are not noteworthy? And honestly, I don't find the lyrics of "Sweet Emotion" that different from the others, as they are full of double meanings. I wonder what "I drive into town in a police car" or "Your daddy says I took you too far" means. Or even "Stay still in front of me and shake your ass" and "I'll take you backstage and you can drink from my cup." Anyway, a 4 for the review and a 5 for the album. Bye. =D

Hi Woodstock, in the next review I’ll try to take more pauses, anyway talking about music I can tell you that the Aerosmith of Toys begin to acquire a more personal sound, while here, although it is a good effort, you can still notice influences from other bands. Then Tyler's voice in Toys, but especially in "Rocks" will resemble far more to the one we all know now.
Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory
Voto:
I completely agree with everything you say; honestly, Oasis are arrogant, stupid, and pretentious, but damn: even though their genre isn't my favorite, I enjoy listening to them. Moreover, in all their albums, they've never really flopped; even after going through tough times, they've always produced noteworthy work.

The reception is quite normal. But you need to explain to me where you found out that Dave and Krist play guitar; Kurt was the main guitarist as well as the singer, and I’ve listened to this CD at least a hundred times and I feel I can tell you that the long guitar solos are heard only by you. There are some moments of brilliance, but certainly, Nirvana are famous for their lyrics, their character, their sound, and not for their skill in using instruments: Kurt was a decent guitarist, Krist is a fair bassist, and Dave, on the other hand, is the most skilled when it comes to playing; he could pull off a small drum solo.

Great review, I agree with you on everything, except on the fact that this is such a "superlative" album and I think Johnson is a good studio singer, but he doesn’t convince me at all live. In conclusion, 4 for you and 3 for the album.
Green Day Insomniac

I liked Green Day quite a bit until "Nimrod," which in my opinion already begins to introduce those more commercial sounds. Unlike peggiopunx, I believe this album sold less precisely because it is harder than the previous "Dookie" and does not contain tracks of the caliber of "Basket Case." Additionally, the dose of pop is considerably lower than in the previous one.
Iron Maiden Live After Death

Great live performance, played really well, as you rightly point out it only lacks in improvisation, in the audience, and in my opinion sometimes also in Bruce's voice, which was good, but not in the best condition.
