You will understand the musical tribute if they wrote it themselves... anyway, I think they were genius. The review is well written, but it seems to me that I've read something very similar, maybe on Wikipedia.
Joss Stone Introducing Joss Stone

The heir of Aretha Franklin? Come on, this one can't even tie her shoes! Have you ever heard 'Respect' sung by Joss Stone? In my opinion, she's just another manufactured singer, and on top of that, she lacks the vocal gifts that a Beyoncé, a Mary J. Blige, or a Lauryn Hill might have. They dress her up and make her pose like the Janis Joplin of the new generation, but the only thing she probably shares with Janis is the urge to fuck... Was 'The Soul Sessions' better than this? Of course! It was a cover album!

What a nuisance they will be… just don’t listen to them after all… they’ll be 15 years old; what do you expect them to do, revolutionize music?! I don’t know the album and I'm not judging that, but the single, although adopted by MTV (which makes it annoying because it's constantly replayed), isn’t bad in its genre. I find the singer’s voice and charisma quite interesting. The fact remains that it’s music for kids sung by kids... for me, it’s fair that it exists, just as it’s fair that Nilla Pizzi still performs in nursing homes for the grandparents who appreciate her! I repeat: no one is forcing you to listen to them! There are people here hoping they die!!! Can you realize that? --- It’s not alternative music, that’s true, so what? Can only alternative music exist? Ah… there are also those who believe that Aerosmith are less commercial than these kids: since they made a comeback in the '80s, they’ve only been offering MTV music! They buy songs from Diane Warren like LeAnn Rimes and Britney Spears, produce glossy videos to attract audiences, and make cameos in movies alongside Christina Milian… what’s the difference in terms of commerciality?

well... it has never convinced me. it doesn’t engage me the way Cristina Donà does. perhaps it’s more 'heavy', it lacks the irony that can lighten the weight of an album like this.
Madonna American Life
Voto:
Wow... for me, it's one of Madonna's best albums, starting with the mature and unpredictable songwriting (when will her many modern copies be able to write songs like 'nothing fails' or 'mother and father'?). Then, the sounds from Mirwais are much more successful than the previous 'music'. The acoustic-electronic play hits some really interesting highs (the ending of 'easy ride' and the experimental single 'die another day'). In short, we don't agree. This album may be commercial, as befits a product worthy of the label 'pop', but it's anything but cold (it's Madonna's most authorial album, the most personal in terms of lyrics). I won't give it a 5 to avoid igniting protests, but my more than a 4 would be a 4 and a half.

Sinéad O'Connor Universal Mother
Voto:
I have always found O'Connor too inconsistent as an artist, for my tastes. Let's say too difficult to categorize within her own genre. Perhaps it's my limitation, to be sure... but it's also one of the reasons that destroyed her commercial success. Beyond this consideration, I have always loved this album, undoubtedly the best of her career. Very intimate and vibrant. (The review is perfect)

Ah... I forgot! On the album, it's basically all her playing! A genius has been born for me...
