they could have left you stranded, and they didn't... you, on the other hand, publicly mocked them for their musical tastes. after 5 years of classical high school...
Róisín Murphy Overpowered
Voto:
I don't know... I really love the character and the voice that she has... but her solo career doesn’t completely convince me! I mean, 'ruby blue' already seemed a bit impersonal... let me explain: a wonderful sound and incredible production, but it’s just any album by herbert, who dressed roisin in the same clothes as the little Sicilian housewife. Personally, I adore the album, but I find that there's very little of Murphy in it! This new album is an attempted return to the Moloko sound, but without the same songs... the comparison of 'overpowered' to a monumental album like 'statues' makes me definitely long for the past. Unfortunately!
Danny Elfman Tim Burton's Corpse Bride Soundtrack
Voto:
I don't know... both the film and the soundtrack seemed to me like a copy of The Nightmare Before Christmas, but without that aura of decadent mystery that made Jack Skellington's story a masterpiece. Although, after The Simpsons theme, we can let Elfman do anything!

Well, well... to define the covers on this album as practically impeccable is definitely debatable, and I'll explain why: the sound quality is excellent, Elisa sings like few others do, and there’s a good atmosphere too... the irritating thing is the rather 'ignorant' approach to two masterpieces. Before singing songs that have been interpreted by legends like Cohen, Buckley, and Nico, one should think it over and show more humility! I heard Elisa say on MTV’s microphones before one of her live performances that she had never heard Cohen’s version of 'Hallelujah'! The album’s interpretation proves this, being practically a copy of Jeff Buckley’s version... I mean, are we joking? Tomorrow I'm going to record 'Summertime' without having ever heard the versions by Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Nina Simone! Just imagine what one might think then, listening to the innocent backing vocals inserted in 'Femme Fatale'... I mean? Did Elisa know what she was singing? Did she know that this song had been interpreted by one of the most brilliant artists of the 20th century?! Elisa has always done her job quite well, 'Then Comes the Sun', without too many pretensions, delivering songs worthy of the Beatles... but this time she took what they say is a step longer than her leg, with a naivety and naturalness that are frankly inappropriate! I can’t forgive her... I’m sorry!

Nico - All Tomorrows Parties ... how much drugs ... but what supernatural deity ...

Well... masterpiece or not, there’s definitely something from Radiohead! I didn’t compare the two careers, I simply said that this album has a similar atmosphere to that of "Pyramid Song," and I stand by that. It has it in more than one point. Plus, Polly and Thom are different in every aspect, that’s undeniable...

The sad Fiona has never convinced me much, however the latest 'extraordinary machine' contains 'not about love', exactly the opposite of what I mean by whiny!
