Johann Sebastian Bach - Mischa Maisky Suites Per Violoncello 1-6
Voto:
Despite what people say, classical music has its place here on Debaser! Wonderful review, a bit lengthy but I don't see that as a bad thing: when there's a lot to say, you can't just send telegrams. Everything has already been said about the opera, and I'll try to gather information about Maisky's interpretation because I'm not familiar with it.

Well done John Volta: finally a refreshing breeze of healthy idiocy, instead of these boring musical discussions that lead nowhere! Brilliant!
Bruce Springsteen Born To Run
Voto:
The only thing I regret about this review is that I wanted to write it myself, since for me this, after 30 years, remains Bruce Springsteen's true masterpiece, even though more will follow: especially "The River" and the two acoustic ones (but those belong to a league of their own).

I almost forgot the grades.
Francesco Guccini Fra la via Emilia e il West
Voto:
Ajeje, I think the beauty of Guccini is his ability to recreate, at least in part, the atmosphere of the osteria even in front of thousands of people. This is thanks to his irresistible monologues between one song and another, which serve as an excellent counterbalance to the seriousness and melancholy of the lyrics. We don't have many essays here, for reasons of space, but it remains an excellent live performance, one of the most important in Italian singer-songwriter music.

Not only has Odradek answered in my place, but on the topic of "records not to be played for the depressed," it seems he has already said more or less everything.

Sorry for the delay, but I guilty take some time away from debaser on the weekends: the answer I wanted to give has already been provided by odradek: "Radici" is a perfect start for me, and the reasons are explained in my review of that masterpiece.

It's rare to see a review so rich in insights associated with a character so empty that it seemingly offers no perspective at all. After all, writing great reviews about masterpieces is much easier. Your Guccini and De André are also my Guccini and De André (in reverse order: De André and Guccini). Unrepeatable and not even comparable to this stuff.
Enzo Jannacci Quelli Che...
Voto:
I don't know this album entirely, but I have always appreciated the somewhat schizo genius of Enzo Jannacci: one of his disconnected flashes of genius I even cited in a review of Gaber, his great partner and another representative of that intelligent, human-faced Milan that is now totally forgotten, overwhelmed by the triumphant idiocy of "Milano da bere." Well done for filling this gap on debaser: if I'm not mistaken, you're the same as Ivan Graziani, so you're specialized in gaps to fill.
