Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Clarinet Quintet - Kegelstatt Trio
Voto:
I’m pleased to see that the 250th anniversary of Mozart is making an impact here on Debaser as well. I arrive late, and therefore I’ll leave my judgment to the numbers.

The description of the human dump surrounding the Vate de Noantri is worth a 5 by itself. What sends a chill down my spine, in these election days, is that the same pimple-faced ciellino, the same old aunts and moms dulled by television syrup and "volemose bbene", the same hysterical queens dressed like Malgioglio, after the ritual of meeting their papier-mâché idol will also have to go into what Bossi calls the "gabina" elettorale. And so I feel compelled to quote a moment of honesty from that old madman Cossiga: "May God bless this ramshackle country!"

I was not familiar with the subject at hand, but after reading this text, I had a revelation: could it be that behind that brainless face hides a poet? Absurd, of course, but weren't certain childish verses with which Palazzeschi amused himself (and us) at the beginning of the twentieth century also pure folly? Maybe, but after that initial revelation, a fierce suspicion began to take root within me. This person is too absurd to be intentional: could he simply be a fool, in the style of Max Pezzali? Upon further reflection, the second hypothesis seems more accurate, and I confirm it with a score of 1 for esteem.
Francesco de Gregori Viva l'Italia
Voto:
It's not among my favorites, due to some nursery rhymes that don't quite measure up ("The Last Ship," "Baby Jesus"), but it still remains a good album, about which one could frankly say a lot, but a whole lot more.
Pino Daniele Sciò
Voto:
I join the question: why is Pino no longer here? This live probably represents his peak grace. "Chi tene 'o mare" with Gato Barbieri is enough on its own to guarantee him a 5. Excellent review, which by the way was part of my plans, but it's more than fine this way.
Billy Joel 52nd Street
Voto:
Great jazzy record by an underrated artist (partly due to a tendency towards some easy pop, but not in this album).
Bob Dylan Desire
Voto:
Much of the review, apart from that "reverential cynicism" which I didn't quite understand, finds me in agreement. And it couldn't be otherwise, given that at the time I had written a good part of the things that I have now read.
Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
Voto:
"Streaked" stands for "turn," of course.
Bob Dylan Highway 61 Revisited
Voto:
That this is the album of the Dylan-esque turning point, perhaps even more important than "Blonde on Blonde," I can only agree. It just seems to me that I had already said this some time ago...
Ivano Fossati Macramè

It was just a figure of speech: too many coincidences sometimes raise suspicion, but only among investigators. And I don't belong to that category. Besides, I should be used to it: there are at least a dozen debaseriani who have musical tastes and ideas similar to mine, but whenever a new one pops up, I still find myself being surprised.
