Magma: Magma (Kobaia)
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
An unpredictable and undefinable record. To be listened to billions of times to fully understand it.
Van der Graaf Generator: Vital
File Audio I have it ★★★★★
One of the most incendiary live performances in history. Hammill is possessed by some wicked spirit, and the addition of violin and cello is nothing short of brilliant. Essential.

More than an addition, it's a replacement, but whatever. Live is essential for me. For sound and attitude, it's amazing.

You know that I'm a big fan of the generator, but I just can't get into this live (or any of their lives)? It seems "flat" to me... which is very strange, maybe what I'm listening to is a mastered version for a pointer dog.

It may be that the version you’re listening to is ad canis mentulam, but overall you’re not entirely wrong; it can seem monotonous and at times disturbing (I had a headache after listening to it). But who cares, it’s pronk and that’s what makes it beautiful.
Wishbone Ash: Argus
File Audio I have it ★★★
An interesting record, if nothing else for Time Was.

one of the first examples of twin guitars, even before so much clanging metal.

I’ve always liked it a lot... it’s probably true that they have been a role model for all the English double guitar NWOBHM bands. However, when I think of a band with twin guitars, the first name that always comes to mind is the Rolling Stones (even though, of course, in a different context).
  • I love them.
However, I have never shared that widespread opinion that sees "Argus" as the group's masterpiece or, at the very least, as the only one worthy of mention. The Ash have produced (so far, they are still active) around twenty studio albums, which I proudly own almost in their entirety. Well, better and sometimes much better than Argus, at least to me, are the following:
    _Pilgrimage, from 1971
    _New England, from 1976
    _Just Testing, from 1980
    _Illuminations from 1996 (masterpiece!)
    _Blue Horizon from 2014

Band reassessed, very good. But I'm part of the "Argus" party as their best album, eh eh.

In reality, I am still a disciple of the Finkbrau, which has apparently returned to Lidl, because it is a Cult that cannot be extinguished with a mere commercial sleight of hand. Don't think! Finkbrauuuuuuu!
Yes: The Yes Album
File Audio I have it ★★★★
For those who think that Yes only made Fragile and Close To The Edge, here is an album that they will surely find interesting. And Starship Trooper is seriously one of the best tracks by Yes.
