An interesting experiment, that of Gorillaz. I prefer their debut, but this remains an excellent album with its variety and its medley of genres fused together.

Jovanotti: Lorenzo 1999: Capo Horn

a "middle" album with Lorenzo 2002 (the fifth world or something like that...), inferior to "l'albero", superior to the next one. For another great work, we have to wait until 2005.
Jovanotti: Safari

Yes, I'll get beaten up but I don't give a damn. Jovanotti has hit one of the best albums of his career here; aside from a few tracks, there are many beautiful songs.

One of the rap masterpieces of this decade. For now, it remains unrivaled (it competes with Lamar).

These days, Lamar's new album has come out along with the not-quite-complete version of life of Pablo by West, which is like the half Life 3 of music. It’s hard to tell if the final version will ever drop or not, plus it’s full of features from people I can't stand (like Drake). In the meantime, I’ll listen to Lamar, who never disappoints ;)

The worst cover album in the history of music. And it even managed to surpass the various "The Number of the Beast," "Master of Puppets," and "The Dark Side of the Moon" clumsily covered by those clowns Dream Theater! An achievement worthy of being remembered in the "memorial" of future generations! Laura... you are one of a kind!

Well, if their intent was to discredit original works, I would say they've succeeded quite well. One example: Dream Theater - Run To The Hills

Yes, I had already seen this video, and I must say that, in this case, I completely agree with Pino. In my opinion, the style of the DT is born and dies with Rush (oh dear, I can’t say for sure if it actually dies, but I'm sure it comes close).

It would be by Charlie Puth feat. Trainor. Seriously, one of the most annoying songs of recent times. And it competes with Bout That Bass, coincidentally, also by the fat shit Trainor. One of those people you’d want to put in a barrel and stomp on until they turn into bloody mush.

For me, a masterpiece. Pregnant with raw realism and also faithful to tradition: the sacred/historical sources clearly suggest that, after the stoning, only shreds of Christ's defiled skin remained. Skin fragments that would reveal the flesh simply by resting fingers on the damaged contours. So says history, and that’s how Mel has told it. Thus, it is a realistic violence and not gratuitous, to which the director refers. Moreover, the choice to subtitle the entire film in order to have the protagonists speak in the languages of the time, namely Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic, is intelligent. Furthermore, the video - subtitle relationship is well-balanced, and the film can be followed without issues. Lastly, it should be noted that moments of pure violence alternate with others of lyrical and visual romanticism, giving the work an epic and moving touch. Masterful the editing and direction when Mary runs to her son after seeing him fall with the cross on his shoulders. Then there’s that ending, predictable given the subject, but shot with intense class and poetry. Christ closes his eyes, reopens them, rises... a lightning-fast shot of the palm of the hand pierced by the nail... rolling credits! No, I have no doubts: it is a 5-star masterpiece!

What you've described, Drago, can easily be defined as cinematic rhetoric (which the film is full of). But it makes sense that you consider it a masterpiece.
  • Dragonstar
    29 apr 15
No, Maffin, I'm not being rhetorical, come on. I don't want to pose as an intellectual, nor to make a thought sound pompous to justify my opinions. I didn’t speak for the sake of it; that was genuinely my thought, and I tried to justify it, articulating all the reasons why I liked the film. So I repeat, it's a five-star movie, and behind this strong belief of mine, there's no hidden inconsistency. Moral of the story: you could have spared me the jab.
  • Muffin_Man
    29 apr 15
No, no Drago, you misunderstood me or I didn't express myself well. I didn't mean to say that you are rhetorical, but the directing choices of the film are.
