Ash Ra Tempel: Schwingungen
CD Audio I lack ★★★★★
A wondrous vision of other universes clashing, crashing into one another. Hungry sounds, now quiet, now stormy, psychedelic calls and screams smothered by the machinery of existence. The delirium of the human mind and a universe far too vast, vastly superior to man, lost in its own beliefs. Vibrations, oscillations within the soul and the heart. The whole is nothing, the nothing is everything; the void envelops us and devours us until it digests us. "Schwingungen" communicates all this.

It's what I said. Much better. Amazing album, just like the previous one. And the next two are also very beautiful for me.

Second album and a second five-star bomb. I can't give less to an album that contains: War Pigs, Paranoid, Iron Man, Electric Funeral... Praise and eternal honor to the BLACK SABBATH..

"Oh delightful delight and enchantment. It was pleasure impatient and become flesh. Like feathers of a rare polished metal, or like silver wine poured in a spaceship. Farewell force of gravity, as I slushed... what enchanting visions!" (quoted from A Clockwork Orange)

I've been listening to this album for years and it never tires me, although I would have expected more given the extraordinary members of the band.

Bruce Springsteen: Nebraska
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
"State Trooper" one of the most beautiful pieces in history. The entire album is a succession of deeply intimate, magical moments. A great album of sparse folk that, however, hides an unprecedented emotional violence behind its slender appearance. One of the peaks of Springsteen's career.

My absolute favorite album, worn out, repurchased both on CD and vinyl, technical and wild, a band at the peak of their game. It's a shame this lineup didn't last long, torn apart mainly by the issues between Gillan and Blackmore...

Franco Battiato: Sulle corde di Aries
Vinile I lack ★★★★★
Chilling! "Sequenze e frequenze" is an otherworldly, alien composition. A text that makes you shrink like the candle terrified by the sound of thunder that Battiato talks about. I almost cried a few times listening to this piece, and it’s rare for that to happen to me. Pure poetry. As for the rest? Extremely high levels, but the best remains on the first side of the LP. One of the most captivating covers of all time, a suggestive and unique title, music and lyrics that give you goosebumps. It resembles both in the cover and in the sound to "Schwingungen" by Ash Ra Tempel. The latter is certainly "better," more evocative, rich, radical, but "Sulle corde di Aries" is a worthy Italian-made record heir.
Fugazi: Repeater

Attention: this music can act as a hormone on the brain and the human body. It stimulates a strong sense of estrangement from reality, a sense of euphoria, and induces the listener to release fluids. Those eager for intense emotions and musical drugs can shoot this sound wonder directly into their veins.

Here I am in tune as well; much more simply, this album still represents a sonic bomb of proportions that are not large, but much more. Sharp, penetrating sounds where the two guitars literally hit you, devastating your auditory system and more. GREAT, IMMENSE FUGAZI..................

5 all my life, and it feels tight on him too. One of the greatest groups ever for me. But aside from this (4 is too little for this stuff), I continue to appreciate these definitions much more than the 8-+:)
Gandalf: Gandalf

I can't help but give four stars to this album even though it's made up solely of covers. The musical atmosphere that it creates is so enchanting that it's impossible not to love it. It's like flying on a magic carpet.
Genesis: Selling England By The Pound
Vinile I have it ★★★★
Pearls like "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" and "Firth of Fifth" are part of the history of progressive rock and are undoubtedly artistic peaks. The rest of the album is far from magnificent: despite a piece like "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)," catchy and musically perfect, with that hypnotic Eastern guitar, and a deep and enchanting instrumental track like "After the Ordeal," the album doesn't quite measure up to its predecessors.

Where do you place The Cinema Show and The Battle Of Epping Forest? All the tracks are immense, only More Fool Me doesn't fit at all...

After listening to the album for the umpteenth time, and having really paid attention, I've come to the conclusion that the Genesis here have stretched it too far. Too self-referential, especially "The Cinema Show": it makes my knees feel weak. At least "The Battle Of Epping Forest" is entertaining, it has a kick-ass lyric and the music is more engaging.
Genesis: Foxtrot
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
Unmissable and wonderful
Genesis: Trespass
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Pearl! The maturity of Genesis, both musically and lyrically, is evident and cannot be mistaken for didacticism, as it will be in "Selling..." and "The Lamb." "Trespass" is an incredibly smooth and pleasant album, touching throughout the entire first side, a bit bolder and more aggressive on the second with "The Knife" and the central part of "Stagnation." It ranks as the third album of the Gabriel era in my personal list.
Genesis: Nursery Cryme
Vinile I have it ★★★★★
Initially, as many know, I preferred "Foxtrot" to any other album by Genesis, enough to declare it my absolute favorite rock album, but I have reevaluated this wonder, chronologically preceding the dethroned "fox album." Three immeasurable and indisputable gems + a more than good piece (Seven Stones) and three short pleasant tracks. "Nursery Cryme" is the most striking case of a perfectly constructed album, where all the pieces come together flawlessly.
What music, guys! Breath-taking and moving. This artist deserves it.

Jandek: Ready for the House
Vinile I lack ★★★★★
Truly disturbing. A masterpiece. Jandek resembles a Neil Young after an alcoholic night, abandoned by some woman from some street corner, with a out-of-tune guitar (or however you want to put it), contemplating the death of everything. The album cover best expresses alienation and loneliness. The echoing sound of the guitar seems to come from an abandoned psychiatric hospital, and Jandek appears to spit out all his hatred with a unique perversion.
Ambiguous album, there's no denying it. A distinctive voice that’s never trivial, unsettling and unhealthy lyrics, and I won't go further than that; an appreciable music, a folk that is sometimes calm and sometimes bolder. A nice musical discovery!
6/10
The only album by Liga that deserves a passing grade. A good album. The lyrics are truly beautiful and heartfelt, the music is mostly average, but there are some noteworthy moments. One song in particular "Lo Zoo è Qui," perhaps the best on the album, along with "Ancora in piedi," "Ho messo via," and "Piccola Città Eterna."

I think that God in person, if He exists, has bowed at least once before such skill, such magnificence. An album that even I cannot fully comprehend. Masterpiece! Exquisite material, superior melodies. Unfortunately, it is known by very few. Wonders like this should be promoted.

Album from 1978, following Egg, Khan, Hatfield and the North, which showcases an excellent technique in the Canterbury jazz-prog style, of exquisite craftsmanship, just like all of Stewart's output is characterized by aesthetic quality. This is also an album to have in any respectable collection.

  • De...Marga...

@hackerhacked: it’s obvious we are referring to the band from Athens' first full-length album. Chronic Town was the very first mini LP that contained five raw tracks but already had a precise identity.
Rapeman: Two Nuns And A Pack Mule
CD Audio I lack ★★★★
Even more eloquent than Atomizer, this new project that will result in only this LP is of incredible power. Inferior to the previous one, but more eloquent in terms of lyrics and the very name of the band. It's as if with their music the Rapeman were violating the mind of the unsuspecting (?) listener. But the violation is not of a negative nature, as it involves music that is genuinely enjoyable and accessible. To be consumed once a day. 8/10

The Jesus And Mary Chain: Psychocandy
CD Audio I lack ★★★★
Orgasmic dark decadent black mass in Velvet Underground style. Distortions that evoke a universe torn apart by the fangs of inevitable darkness, music that conjures scenes of death in an empty room, in a microcosm that becomes a macrocosm. Truly disturbing and fascinating at the same time.
  • De...Marga...

You are absolutely right; the Scottish brothers made their debut back in 1985 with this record where a simple guitar sound is hyper-distorted, creating something fascinating, twisted, yet genius. Along with Darklands, released two years later, it represents the best of the band.
