Well, the first three are absolute heavyweights. Especially Joy Division, who are among the greatest of all time.

If you feel like it, take a look at mine...it's a bit lengthy but there are some ideas to discuss...

I took a look at your ranking.. for some artists, beyond the positions you give them, I completely agree with you. My ranking was actually just a rough draft.. I still don't quite understand how this site works... Plus, I've never had favorite bands or singers, just music I listen to depending on the moments, in periods, and in a mixed way.. it was just to make it clear where I stand in musical matters.. :)

Honestly, yours is also my problem... there isn't an absolute favorite for me, I like so much music that I ended up making a ridiculously heavy ranking that I would already change today in terms of positions, etc... however, if you wanted to continue adding things you're listening to, that wouldn't be bad!

A ranking that doesn't quite match my tastes... good job by Pink Floyd, Velvet, and Joy Division. The importance of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones is unquestionable. The rest doesn’t thrill me. A tip? Check out the legendary Who if you don't know them already!

Pana, what do you have against Cure and Stooges?

The Cure in the '80s released one beautiful album after another: Seventeen Seconds, Faith, and their best ones, Pornography and Disintegration.

Seventeen, Faith, and Pornography is their Dark trilogy, all five-star albums. Disintegration is the sublimation of a career. However, they’ve also made three or four other great records.

Since disintegration, I'm not very familiar with them. My favorite remains Pornography.

Let's say that in the '90s they made "Wish," which is a good album even though it's clearly inferior to their heavyweights. After that, I don't know them either. The other good albums I was referring to were mainly "Boys Don't Cry" and "The Top."

I know The Top, but compared to the four I mentioned, I like it less. The other one I've never heard of.

I agree, those four are the best, the 5-star ones for me. The Top is one of the other good ones they've made, though.

I'm sorry, but I find disintegration terrifying...slow and convoluted, to put it briefly...when I bought the CD, I had a nervous breakdown for wasting 35,000 precious Italian lira! degustibus, anyway...

      Well, yes, de gustibus :)

The Cure don't do anything for me. I know very little about the Stooges, but they don't inspire any fondness in me.

@pana thanks for the advice.. I'm already familiar with the Who ;) and they will definitely be included in my ranking. I've decided to build it little by little in a "random" order since I can't really create a proper ranking!!!

Sure. By the way, congratulations on including the Talking Heads, they're fantastic.
