    I've been hearing about Bat for Lashes for years... so I ordered it and it should arrive at the store today. The only problem is that I have a fever of 38 and I can't go pick it up... AAAARRRRGGGHH! Do you think I did the right thing by getting it?

      I really liked it, but I would have suggested starting to listen to them with their debut "Fur and Gold" or the second album "Two Suns": they have very dark and unique electro-tribal sounds, while "The Haunted Man" is still dark, but more oriented towards minimal electronics. If you like the genre, you made a great choice in picking it up; if you don't, still give it a listen starting from the piano-voice ballad "Laura," which is very beautiful and "amosiana." Then let me know what you think and, most importantly, get well soon! :)
      P.S: Have you listened to "Vows" by Kimbra, as I suggested in a comment on another chart?

    kimbra I'll make a note of it. As soon as I can... you know, I don't download anything, I prefer to buy; I believe that's the only way I can truly grasp the value of a CD rather than just listening to it on the computer. Anyway, I'm curious, and who knows, by the end of the year, I might even buy Fiona Apple. Everyone's talking about her positively, of course, I used to listen to her many years ago, back in '99... bat for lashes are supposed to bring me their album tonight. Actually, I had heard about the tribal aspect of the other two... but what do you think of Florence and the Machine? It doesn't really say much to me... wall of sound + singing, but I don’t know? I listened to lungs, but it didn't really stick with me...

      I quite like Florence and The Machine; their second album "Ceremonials" contains some really beautiful tracks, like "Only If For a Night." They're not exactly my favorite band, but I enjoy listening to them. By the way, if you like Bjork, I recommend checking out "Pianeta Venere" and "Elektrika" by Chiarastella (I even wrote a review for the former), who I think is an artist to keep an eye on.

    Nelly Furtado has released a nice album... too bad it was a flop... I don't agree at all. I was pleasantly surprised by Alanis Morissette... Muse with The 2nd Law have definitely done better compared to the previous The Resistance... but it's true... they could have dared more... some parts sound overly familiar... and others feel... déjà vu...

    what a disappointment alice... I only have the first 4 but from capo nord to falsi allarmi one more beautiful than the other. this one, I don’t know? it didn’t leave me much. do you know the last 4 albums by nada? I especially recommend tutto l'amore che mi manca.

      "Samsara" is the first album by Alice that I listened to, and I must actually admit that, compared to "Charade" and "Il Sole Nella Pioggia," it is definitely inferior. However, there aren't many albums like this in Italy, and that's also why I included it in this ranking.

      I also recommend another album to listen to: "Harem" by Sarah Brightman. And thanks again for suggesting Dot Allison, her album is really nice!
