  @j&r: I'm glad that my ranking sparked your amusement. I’ll clarify, in a friendly way, that while the ranking necessarily involves numbers, the order is somewhat random and obviously reflects the things I listen to most. I certainly didn't mean to imply that Mozart is inferior to the Beatles. I had hoped that didn't even need to be said; the spirit of these rankings is often "misleading," not just mine, of course.

  My favorite bands are in this order: Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis - the first ones, I believe. Mozart and Beethoven are in history, the Beatles will definitely be there, maybe Led Zeppelin... There's also Fabrizio, Frank Zappa, but I don't know him.

  I might have avoided Mozart to include Bob Dylan and Beethoven for the essential Sonic Youth; the rest, being a personal ranking, could also be acceptable.

  I wouldn't be so critical, Ferry. Suggestions are always an extra starting point for the reader and for those who create rankings on the fly; I see it, in my own understanding of course, as something constructive and participatory within the realm of personal opinions. I always respect, in any case, your opinion as well, of course.

  Maybe you meant Incipit, incip what is it? Anyway, suggesting to remove Mozart and Beethoven to put Topo Gigio and the Cacofoni seems like nonsense to me. I suggest you make the ranking yourself, macioman.
