Nice single-ass-busters amidst records filled with boredom and nonsense. Their sound is initially very interesting and peculiar, but after a handful of songs it becomes rather repetitive and boring. I give a 3 because they are engaging live, but it would be a 2.5. more
Not bad EVOL and Dirty, but they’ve never really told me much; they sound like the Patti Smith Group with different tunings, but certainly not noise. In fact, Patti makes a lot more noise with feedback at the end of her live shows (saw her live in June, devastating)!!! Anyway, I will delve deeper into them. A 3 for the sound anyway! more
Even though they still produce a few great tracks, the rest is dishearteningly bland. I agree with their decision to disband. more
but those Swedes could have chosen a different name... more
Not bad at all, especially to listen to while goofing around! I really enjoyed Americana and Smash, along with a good portion of Conspiracy and Ixnay. In between, there are several fillers, typical of the genre after all. Dexter's voice is original, but after too long, it gets to my head. I give it a 3, which would be almost a 3.5 for what I know! more
The true Punks within Punk, both in terms of lyrics and music, as they got fed up with the usual "rebellious" musical scheme, which they then disintegrated with sounds of reggae, ska, pop, and even some jazz. I haven't listened to them in a long time because of some memories; I used to love them years ago. Absurd geniuses for their time. more
So much, but so much stuff! more
A pop singer who stays current for over fifty years is already a remarkable thing. And Bowie is much more than just a pop singer. more
I’m okay with any definition that does not include the phrases "mad diamond" and "crazy head." more
Excellent debut of a thoroughbred in Afro-American music. more
I loved them a few years ago, the only hard rock/glam metal band that ever struck me when I was drawn to those sounds! I still enjoy them a lot when I listen to them, especially Wings Of Tomorrow (metallic and badass), Final Countdown, and Out Of This World are also very nice; then a slow and relentless decline since 1991 with Prisoners, now repetitive and unlistenable. Live, they rock!!!! more
One of the coolest covers ever serving as a calling card for a superb album. more
The two LPs with the New York Dolls, "L.A.M.F." with the Heartbreakers, and the solo "So Alone" are more than enough to make Johnny Thunders one of my all-time favorite artists. A man who breathed, spat, lived (and passed away) Rockn'Roll. more
Musician I am particularly attached to. I met him in person, and he is a very approachable person. more
The fathers of the concept of heavy and badass riffs, carried on by many bands that I currently love. The Sabbaths themselves have never really captivated me, except for the album Paranoid and scattered songs, up until 1975. Finished with Ozzy for me. I give it a 3 for its importance! more
Tacky metalhead from the club for alternative 14-year-olds more
Listening to the Swans is like standing in the presence of a terrible and terrifying deity: you don’t necessarily have to worship it intimately; but you must submit to its Law. more
Fairy-tale like yet surprisingly contemporary, and musically suspended between folk, jazz, and symphonic prog: although generally underrated, this album is a little gem. more
Everything is fantastic, almost magical: a vaguely melancholic cover, tracks ranging from music hall to McCartney's baroque pop, to Lennon’s essential rock and psychedelia, lyrics full of references to drugs and death; Scaruffi’s nonsense, this is purely genius. more
The nonplusultra of British Pop Rock ever, nothing more to say. more
