Antonello Venditti
So, on the surface, it really pisses me off. But whoever gave a 1 to Venditti OBVIOUSLY has never listened to "Roma capoccia": the love declaration to the most beautiful and passionate city that I have ever heard, it gives me goosebumps every time and I’m not even Roman. And he also wrote the most beautiful anthem for a football team ever ("you'll never walk alone", just to say, it doesn’t even compare. And it wasn't even specifically written for Liverpool). The vote goes to these two songs. more
Overkill -Under the Influence
A record that I have never been able to "fully assimilate" in the sense that I perceive it as less successful than its two predecessors, but at the same time it brings for the first time in Overkill's career the attempt to articulate their speed/thrash more. The tempos slow down slightly, the tracks expand in length, but overall it remains a very successful album of old-school metal. Over time, I have also managed to reassess it positively. "Shred", "Never Say Never" and "The more
overkill -taking over
Second birth and second center: speed, technique, riffs. Everything is in the right place, resulting in a solid, powerful, aggressive work. "Wrecking Crew" and "In Union We Stand" are the best.

Overkill -Feel The Fire
Debut album with a bang. A raw and fast thrash that shines in tracks like "Rotten To The Core" and "Hammerhead." A band that has remained in the shadow of the "big four" but deserves to be rediscovered.

Drive Like Jehu
The Emo/Post-Hardcore derived from Fugazi meets the most violent and gritty Noise Rock. The rawer side of the '90s Emo scene. more

Modern new wave. I enjoy it immensely. more
Magnetic Fields -69 love songs
3 discs, 69 songs.
I mean, can you believe it?
Maybe Bobby Solo has done 30 in his entire career.

Anyway, I wouldn't dwell too much on the off-base comparison; rather, I'd prefer to suggest that you listen to this magn-etic/magn-ificent/magniloquent album.

Bizarre melodies, a poetic and piercing vocal style, an unimaginable variety of instruments.
A must. more

Arachnes
The first album "The Goddess Temple" is a great proof... unfortunately, in the subsequent records they have turned into embarrassingly trashy!! more

Devil Doll
Eliogabalus is a bit messy (maybe because of the many cuts?), while Sacrilegium (and worse still, the Sacrilege Of Fatal Arms) is disjointed... but The Girl Who Was... Death and Dies Irae deserve not only top marks but a place in the ranking of the top 10 albums in the history of Italian music. There you go. more
Nino D'Angelo
I a neomelodic who "acted" in certain films can't even save him no matter how hard I try.. more
Neffa
If everyone knew how to REINVENT themselves like he did, we would have already solved the pollution problems a long time ago with a massive use of waste separation... more
Nino D'Angelo
Contrary to popular belief, a VERY VALID interpreter in a foreign language: it is no coincidence that he has also sung in Italian. more
Sigur Rós
There is no suitable word for them except perhaps "surprising." Coming from the cold land of Iceland, Sigur are capable of reinventing themselves sound after sound without ever being mundane. Their way of creating music is unlike anyone else's; they invent words, blend atmospheres, and incorporate different styles with results that always exceed expectations. Surrender yourself, there's nothing else needed to appreciate them. more
Elvis Presley
Voice extremely fitting for the genre, undeniable charisma and personality, as well as his influence on the generations of that time... and then John Lennon considered him a God. Who am I to contradict John Lennon? more
The Police
but on the 2 faces of evil sting is he good or bad (well given the open ending let's say he's a bit bad-chic...)? more
