When chance and curiosity ignite passion.
Summer 1971. At 16 years old, I knew very little about the international music scene: a few songs by the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, the rest were the commercial hits of the time. During my mountain holiday that year, some boys at the hotel had with them 4 LPs with strange covers that intrigued me a lot. Listening to them on a record player available, these 4 LPs impressed me enormously for the originality and beauty of many of the tracks they contained. Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, ELP were the new sounds to my ears. The spark for my passion was AQUALUNG by Jethro Tull, an incredible blend of folk, blues, and rock that literally drove me crazy. And then that unforgettable, fascinating, slightly disturbing cover. When the vacation ended, I immediately bought it and almost wore it out, listen after listen. It was a thrilling beginning for discovering and delving deeper into that music which, I believe, is unrepeatable today both for the socio-cultural stimuli of the time and for the abilities of those wonderful musicians, surrounded by an almost legendary aura since, in the media of the time, there was no opportunity to see or listen to them.
