The third album by the artist from Latina "Nessuno è solo" opens with a song that is a jewel for its lyrics and music "Tarantola d’Africa" with a truly well-crafted and airy arrangement.
I listened to the album mainly because I couldn't understand how Tiziano Ferro could have chosen an electronic song that is not even too engaging and lively (Stop!Dimentica) as the album's lead single. The second track is "Ti scatterò una foto", a beautiful ballad for its simplicity. Surely "Ed ero contentissimo" is not on the level of the previous ballad but it is not a track to be dismissed. "E fuori è buio" is another well-executed ballad (but in this Tiziano is a master) very personal and deep.
"E Raffaella è mia", an electro track dedicated to Raffaella Carrà, is definitely not a song I would recommend to anyone. Always belonging to the pleasant, catchy ballad style, direct and never too cheesy are "La paura che…", "Salutandotiaffogo", and the wonderful "Già ti guarda Alice". In "Baciano le donne" there's the fleeting and non-impactful presence of Biagio Antonacci.
The album closes with confirmation of Tiziano Ferro's ability to write very deep autobiographical tracks like "Mio fratello". It’s an album whose most fitting adjectives are "true" and "authentic", all with the significant vocal abilities that Tiziano has always demonstrated.
It is evident that Tiziano has made a clear choice to favor ballads over upbeat songs (despite the unfortunate debut of Stop!dimentica), my humble advice is still to follow the path paved with "Tarantola d’Africa".
Whether we like it or not, Tiziano Ferro and his songs will still be talked about.
The album is very acoustic, sometimes reminiscent of sixties or ’80s atmospheres, it is dominated by acoustic guitar and rarely by electric guitar.
True genuineness is the suitable adjective for the songs; truth and simplicity are the only things people who are lonely need.
Tiziano Ferro is an excellent, celestial singer-songwriter who, with one of the most beautiful voices ever heard, gives us 11 pieces of heart and songwriter’s music.
Nessuno è solo is an absolute masterpiece, comparable to the Beatles’ albums in a certain sense.
It is so explicit, without barriers or façades of convenience, revealing a guy who is not just a pretty face with a beautiful voice and a rogue smile, but also a person full of fragility and insecurities.
If there’s one thing this beautiful album is full of, it’s the sense of loneliness.
