Ladies and gentlemen, here is one of the best albums of Italian rock from the '90s (and beyond).
It was well known that Timoria were no fools, but this album is a masterpiece. A concept album (especially in the '70s, rock bands usually recorded at least one so-called concept album in their career) about the story of a fictional Joe whose adventure is also recounted within the booklet.
Indeed, this work by Timoria is very unusual for the Italian discography history, and considering what was said, only a few in Italy have managed to produce a rock album with such depth, progressive influences, and a pronounced melodic vein.
The lyrics are truly inspired, and we know Francesco Renga's voice is up to the task (it's a pity about the path recently taken by both him and Omar Pedrini). In this album, the guitars make the pieces solid and compact, thanks to an Omar Pedrini in a state of grace (besides him, the whole group, on this occasion, delivers excellently).
The best tracks are the opener Senza Vento, the wonderful electric ballad Sangue Impazzito, La Cura Giusta, and Il Mercante Dei Sogni, but the entire album is exceptional, and I will never tire of saying it.
Also strong due to valuable collaborations, such as Eugenio Finardi in Verso Oriente and Mauro Pagani on the violin in Lombardia, this album is undoubtedly the best by Timoria, a band that has contributed greatly to our local rock scene and could have said much more.
In the face of those who say rock in Italy does not exist (or did not exist) and that we copy from Americans or Brits: sure, this unfortunately happens (too often), but generalizing is never good because there are people who make good music, and one doesn't necessarily need to have a lot of public visibility.
Listen to this album and then tell me what you think!
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
03 Sangue impazzito (04:37)
Solo (pedrini)

"I believe I am not exaggerating when I say it could be one of the best Italian works of the '90s."
"The Brescians, led by Omar Pedrini, came from a recent past filled with '80s-style romantic music; this album finds them grown and mature."

They know that if they don’t make it big now, things are unlikely to improve in the future.
Viaggio senza vento is steeped in literature, philosophy, and spirituality.
