Shadowmaker is a feckless work, absolutely devoid of ideas, lacking in punch.

Rock ’n’ Rolf this time has flopped big, producing a work that casts heavy shadows even on what was done well in the past.

Running Wild's return with Shadowmaker fails to meet expectations after announcing their retirement. The album suffers from weak songwriting and outdated riffs, lacking the energy and creativity of classic releases. Only a few tracks are somewhat tolerable, but overall the album feels uninspired and disappointing to long-time fans. The review critiques the band's decision to resume activity and questions the artistic value of this release. Discover why Running Wild’s Shadowmaker left fans cold—read the full review and listen for yourself!

The River is a very reflective album, indeed the first disc starts with The Ties That Blind, a beautiful track that was originally supposed to give the album its title.

Ultimately, The River is probably the Boss’s best work ever, the sum of his abilities and the genres he traversed.

Released in 1980, The River is Bruce Springsteen's double album that blends energetic rock tracks with reflective stories about love, family, and working-class struggles during a tough recession.  "In my films no one runs or laughs."

Rather than a 'happy ending,' there is a 'happy proceeding' that preserves the innocence of the protagonists.

Aki Kaurismäki’s 'The Man Without a Past' follows an amnesiac man starting anew after a brutal attack in Helsinki. Known for his dry style, Kaurismäki uses minimal dialogue and restrained acting to craft a bittersweet story of love and survival. The film balances heavy themes with gentle humor and a Chaplinesque innocence. It’s a great choice for viewers interested in understated but profound storytelling. Discover the subtle charm of Kaurismäki’s classic—watch The Man Without a Past now!

Vikernes changes while remaining himself, and in this instance, his isolation has preserved him untouched by the stupid disputes that have plagued the evolution/involution of metal music for the last twenty years.

His music is combative, epic, indomitable, visionary, solitary, like its creator, and this music becomes more than anything else a testament to proud independence.

Burzum's Umskiptar offers a complex blend of black metal roots and new formal innovations inspired by Norse mythology. The album showcases Varg Vikernes' stubborn artistic isolation, balancing epic and visionary music with repetitive and lengthy compositions. While some see it as a masterpiece of transformation and folk influence, others view it as overlong and prolix. Ultimately, Umskiptar challenges listeners to decide if it's an epic evolution or excessive rehashing within the genre. Dive deep into Burzum's Umskiptar to experience a unique journey through black metal, Norse myths, and poetic epic music.

"Phil Anselmo moved closer to a more angry, aggressive, and pissed-off voice than ever, 'Fucking Hostile' is proof of that."

"The first seven songs each better than the last, with ‘Walk’ as their battle anthem and ‘Fucking Hostile’ as one of the fastest and most brutal."

Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera is a pivotal 1992 thrash metal album that helped launch groove metal. Phil Anselmo's aggressive vocals and Dimebag Darrell's outstanding guitar riffs stand out. While several songs excel, a few tracks dip the album's momentum. Despite minor flaws, it's highly recommended for metal fans seeking powerful, intense music. Dive into Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power and experience the intensity of thrash and groove metal legends!

It’s just an album, considering that the cover seems like a piece of cardboard folded onto itself and in somewhat unsettling colors at that.

Although Loreena’s voice is always fantastic, mystical and evocative, only a fan like me could have purchased this album.

The live album 'Troubadours On The Rhine' by Loreena McKennitt features traditional songs with familiar interpretations, showcasing her mystical voice. While it offers a condensed career summary, it lacks new material and doesn't match the impact of her earlier live DVD. The album's modest packaging and limited innovation make it mainly appealing to devoted fans. Explore Loreena McKennitt’s evocative live performances and decide if 'Troubadours On The Rhine' resonates with your folk music passion.

There is a desire to celebrate one’s youth, which becomes, for the entire duration of the album, a value to be reproduced and adored fully and without reservation.

For thirty-five minutes, amidst easily hummable street chants and fearsome surges… one is involved in a noisy party, full of sweat, above-average alcohol levels, and emotions and memories that need to be preserved from the passage of time.

Japandroids' Celebration Rock captures the desire to celebrate youth with raw, noisy energy. The album invites spontaneous sing-alongs, evoking memories and emotions tied to growing up. While tracks may sound similar, the band's sincere delivery creates an immersive and energetic experience. This Canadian duo blends punkgaze and indie rock, making the album a heartfelt party anthem full of passion and nostalgia. Dive into the raw energy of Japandroids' Celebration Rock and relive the thrill of youth today!

Every song would deserve a separate review due to the many nuances each contains.

"Always the same stuff but done well: this is 'King of the Road.'"

The band is recognized as key players in American stoner rock, often compared to Kyuss but with a lighter, beachy vibe. Despite the songs' similarities, the album is well-executed and enjoyable.  They play, they play well. But there is nothing dirty, of that beautiful sound that clashed with that unique sense of disorder.

Soundgarden for me are represented by those two albums: "Screaming life" and "Ultramega ok". Period.

The review covers Soundgarden's 2012 reunion concert at Fiera Rho, expressing disappointment over the absence of early classics and a too-clean sound. The show felt more like a marketing move than a genuine artistic revival. Despite decent musicianship, the author expected a deeper connection to the band's grunge roots and was let down by the setlist and overall atmosphere. Read the full review to explore the highs and lows of Soundgarden's 2012 reunion concert and decide for yourself.

"We live in time; time shapes us and holds us, yet I have never had the sensation of fully understanding it."

"'The Sense of an Ending' is a remarkable work for its simplicity and elegance in narrating the perception each of us has of passing time, of aging."

Conker’s Bad Fur Day is an improbable mixture of blinding colors and nastiness, of improbable as well as obscene characters.

A semi-unknown masterpiece that with the use of an irony balanced between the absurd and the tragic shows us that even an ostensibly childish game can teach us something very profound.

"100GDO is certainly an album that tends to disorient by moving (too?) broadly across musical styles, sounds, and quite elaborate writing levels."

"The principle of moments is an excellent album of healthy and warm old-style rock'n'roll."

"Plant’s voice preserves that 'irreverent' and suggestive attitude from Led Zeppelin’s times."

Robert Plant's second solo album, The Principle Of Moments, builds on his first solo effort with a blend of classic rock and blues enhanced by electronic keyboards. Featuring talented musicians like Robbie Blunt and Phil Collins, the album offers calm, melodic tracks with occasional Led Zeppelin energy. Notable songs include 'Big Log' and 'Horizontal Departures.' Released during the rise of new wave-electronic music, Plant stays true to his rock roots while adding modern touches.  The first part of the album surely surprises the listener in terms of power, freshness and malice.

Comparing it to that sacred monster is unfair for what the current Satyricon are and especially for the CD in question.

The Age Of Nero by Satyricon marks a continuation of the band’s stylistic shift from old-school black metal towards modern, groove-oriented sounds. While the album surprises with powerful and fresh songs in its first half, the latter half feels less developed and somewhat incomplete. The review suggests listeners approach the album without strict comparisons to Satyricon's classic works to appreciate its unique qualities. Dive into Satyricon's The Age Of Nero—experience the fusion of classic black metal and modern grooves today!

Peter’s voice only improves with age! Here, it takes on dozens of different nuances, darkens and closes in on itself, launches into incredible climbs.

The absolute delicacy, the total expression of freedom and openness to the external world that this track conveys makes those previous ugliness tolerable.

Peter Gabriel's New Blood offers orchestral reimaginings of his classic songs, showcasing his enduring vocal prowess.  "The album is the ideal musical guide on how to combine Roxy Music, Sparks, solo Eno, and British post-punk new wave."

"'Song From Under The Floorboards' condenses everything that new wave was in 1980 — McGeogh is immense."

Magazine's third album, The Correct Use Of Soap, showcases the band's blend of post-punk and new wave infused with art rock influences. The review highlights the mature narrative style of Howard Devoto and the notable contributions of band members like Dave Formula and John McGeogh. The album resonates with complex yet catchy songs that balance experimental sounds with accessible rhythms. It is praised as a significant, though sometimes overlooked, landmark in British post-punk.  Apathy. The cancerous sensation that grips you after a period, more or less brief, of peace of mind.

Perhaps it’s the distant sound of the guitars, increasingly ethereal.

The review reflects on Thin White Rope's 1991 album The Ruby Sea, highlighting its dusty rock sound and evocative lyrics. Though not as inspired as other works, the album's ethereal guitars and strong songwriting create a nostalgic mood. Key tracks like 'Hunter’s Moon' and 'Bartender’s Rag' emphasize its unique blend of country and rock. The review captures the emotional connection listeners might feel in reflective moments. Dive into The Ruby Sea and experience Thin White Rope's hauntingly beautiful rock journey today.

This CD has all the sounds of '70s Prog without being 'old'; they are current and non-trivial sounds.

The singer has almost no technique... but he has the advantage of having a particular voice, warm, 'dirty', enveloping.

Civico 23's album Work In Prog captures the essence of 70s progressive rock with a contemporary Italian twist. The young, talented musicians demonstrate great skill and creativity. Although the singer lacks technical polish, his unique warm and rough voice complements the music well. The hand-crafted artwork and inclusion of lyrics enhance the listening experience. Minor audio imperfections do not detract from the album's appeal. Dive into Civico 23's Work In Prog to experience a fresh Italian take on classic progressive rock!

A pervasive scent of falsity and easy success lurks low and looming from the first to the last note of the album.

The doubt arises: does the Marina of 'I Am Not A Robot' and 'Mowgli's Road' still exist?

The review reflects on Marina And The Diamonds' shift from her debut's unique pop style to a more commercial and less sophisticated sound in Electra Heart. It praises standout tracks like 'Primadonna' and 'Fear And Loathing' but criticizes moments where the album feels too serious or inauthentic. The reviewer questions the sincerity behind the new persona and wonders if the original Marina still exists beneath the character. Discover the complexities of Marina's Electra Heart—listen and decide if the persona convinces you!
