Even though I know that this video game has been on the market for a long time, I would like to review it to share my opinion. Call of Duty MW3 essentially features three modes: campaign, multiplayer, and special ops. The campaign, like its predecessors, is visually epic, almost cinematic in some sequences, as it unfolds across some of the world's greatest cities, from New York to Paris, during a hypothetical third world war.

As always, the levels are well structured and the breathtaking sequences, although the duration is very short, 5-6 hours for the more skilled players. Speaking of Multiplayer, I was quite disappointed; not only by the map design, worse than those in the previous installment Black Ops, but also by the weapon and accessory unlocking system, as well as the killstreak system. Focusing on the latter, even the most novice players who are unable to string together multiple consecutive kills can benefit from very powerful rewards thanks to the support package; in my opinion, these rewards are exaggerated. Overall, the multiplayer initially proves to be slightly frustrating, fun after learning the basics (especially the confirmed kill mode), not at all realistic like in the other installments for that matter, and finally, after many hours of play, repetitive.

Finally, the special ops mode, which branches out into two options: the special operations themselves and survival. The OPS are merely missions connected to the story, playable solo, online cooperatively, or with a friend, quite entertaining but not adding much to the overall experience. The survival consists of just barricading in a building and surviving against increasingly aggressive enemy waves. In short, it’s a poor imitation of the zombie mode from BO, which retains much more charm.

In conclusion, this installment of COD left me quite disappointed, especially in multiplayer and survival mode; in my opinion, it was released too hastily without adding substantial new features or improvements (especially graphical ones). I hope that BO 2 will bring a renewal/improvement compared to this installment, otherwise, I think I will definitively switch to Battlefield, which has dominated the video game market at the expense of other FPS, like COD.
