HELLO I'm here to talk to you about Queen, and more precisely about Queen II, the second album released by Freddie's legendary band. Queen II presents itself as an album with very hard rock, but at the same time with sweet melodies that only Freddie could create thanks to his unique and rare voice, but also thanks to his masterful interpretation! Oh yes, I don't think it's nonsense to say that Freddie was and still is 90% of the band's success, because Queen without Freddie would never have made history, while Freddie without Queen would have, not because May, Taylor, and Deacon are not talented, far from it, but just because I consider Freddie Mercury a singer with unsurpassable abilities and a technical repertoire that borders on the supernatural, considering that he sang: METAL-HARD ROCK-GLAM ROCK-ROCK-POP-JAZZ-COUNTRY-DISCO, and even managed to record an album in a duet with M.CABALLE' where Freddie becomes a full-fledged tenor. (and here I bow) Having said this, I consider Queen the most ingenious band the earth has ever known.
Let's return to the album: Queen II consists of eleven tracks, of which 50% feature very dark lyrics (let's say they are the more aggressive songs where evil reigns) and these are signed by Freddie, while the other half are sweeter songs where good triumphs, signed by Brian. The most significant work is undoubtedly "The March of the Black Queen" a song lasting almost seven minutes (back then a record) absolutely delirious, where you transition from one musical-vocal rhythm to another in a few seconds, where refined vocal overdubs are found and where May's guitar scratches almost painfully!!. (in my opinion, this song is the most beautiful in the history of rock!!) Guys, if you want to listen to some real hard-rock music, well, Queen II will not disappoint you.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: It may cause addiction!! So use it in moderation!!
Queen II is indeed one of the albums to be rediscovered and considered as a true and legitimate masterpiece of rock with dark and sepulchral tones.
The March of the Black Queen encapsulates all, I say all, the band’s poetics, in a single, elusive, infinite song.
One of the most underrated rock works in history.
Those who hate Queen should listen to this album.
Queen II is one of the most well-crafted and creative albums ever.
Explosion of guitar, explosion of voice, triumph of choruses. The closure is melancholy 'As it began'. Goosebump-inducing song, excellent piece.
"'Queen II' is a record full of hard rock and baroque, surreal, and fairy-tale atmospheres."
"I consider it Queen's masterpiece, even more than 'Bohemian Rhapsody.'"
"Queen II is an ambiguous masterpiece with multiple nuances, an admirable blend of styles, perfect in arrangements, structure, and the fluid flow of the music."
"'The March of the Black Queen' is superb, a masterpiece within the masterpiece, one of the best compositions by Queen, if not the best."
