TSP50 ... “Every time we got stuck in the studio with a certain bridge, I told Jim to pull out one of his poetry books for inspiration and... a lot of our stuff came from bits of those notebooks set to music,” Rothchild.
“Jim has so much energy that it’s as if he couldn’t do everything by himself; we use our musical structure to support his lyrics. There are some people who push themselves to the edge... Jim penetrates into unknown territories,” Krieger.
The title track is a collage of pieces of poetry set to music; a collection of parts in separate sections.
The Soft Parade was the phrase coined by Jim to describe the colorful and bizarre humanity that populated Sunset day and night.

“You cannot petition The lord with prayer.”

The cover was a photo taken two years earlier... because Morrison was just like he is in the video... and I really like it this way... he was already just “an old Blues man.”

@[lector] (in alphabetical order)... these days I’ve extracted and listened to all the stuff I have about it... but is our JLP really that tone-deaf?! Because on the records he sounds okay, live it's so-so (but the iconoclastic fury might rightfully affect it)... yet I have some "acoustic" recordings where even my old grandmother was more in tune... not that I care about the tunings - imagine me... I was just curious...
