Building on the brilliant idea of @[Alemarcon] to revisit the brilliant idea of @[Martello], I would like to offer, as an additional kick in the...er, preview of the columns that will start in a week, a ranking of the worst albums by Antonello Venditti (from 1991 to 2015, excluding "Dalla pelle al cuore" from 2007) from the least unbearable to the peak of absolute diarrhea.

N°3: "Tortuga" (2015)
For now (and hopefully forever), the last original work in Antonello's discography. Still on a four-year schedule, as he has gotten us used to since '91. In an interview, he stated: "Tortuga is my best album," calling it the most heartfelt, committed, and similar crap of his discography. The only opening single "Cosa avevi in mente" (a pathetic rehash of the beautiful "Lilly" from forty years earlier) indicates the general trend of the album. An album that might be described as "less unbearable" than the one I posted this morning but contains the most foul-smelling pile of crap of them all...

The masterpiece of the album: Ti amo inutilmente

Wire - Mercy (2006 Remastered Version)
How much I adore this leaden, morbid, obsessive album 🔮🐍

Taking inspiration from the brilliant idea of @[Alemarcon] to revisit the brilliant idea of @[Martello], I allow myself, as an additional kick in the... ehm, preview of the columns that will start in a week, to present a ranking of the worst albums by Antonello Venditti (from 1991 to 2015 and excluding "Dalla pelle al cuore" from 2007) from the least unbearable to the peak of absolute diarrhea.

No. 4: "Che fantastica storia è la vita" (2003)
We are getting closer to the podium, and the fight for the title of worst is becoming increasingly difficult. Here we are, after a four-year hiatus, in the new millennium, Nello serves us a new work. A work that aims to revive Venditti's career, which had already hit rock bottom (in fact, it had started to dig). Does he succeed? Of course not! The only thing worthy of some mention is Gato Barbieri's saxophone in the title track. Yes, that title track we all know, that “Mi chiamo Antonio e faccio il cantautore,” that highly praised piece which is actually just a load of nonsense.

The shitshow of the album: Non C'è Male

Drowned Dog Black Night @[fedezan76] I don't know if you'll like them, there's also a lot of eccentric pop that's very "theatrical" and emphatic (stuff that reminds me of certain other things by Frith) and other things are closer to the guitar style of Thompson from those years, anyway it's up to you, there are more possibilities here than with Thomas's Pedestrians in any case.
