In 1993, another meteor graced the stage of the Ariston. The winner of "Sanremo Famosi," the singer from Sassari, gains her rightful place in the Festival in the New Proposals category with a rather embarrassing rock song titled "Tu con la mia amica," written by Enrico Riccardi (it will later be revealed that this was a track that had been shelved since 1974, originally intended for Bertè and discarded from the album "Streaking").

The horse rider Maria Grazia, loud enough to make even the musicians behind her smile, leaves Cuccarini dumbfounded at the end of her performance and Baudo lightens the mood by imitating the "hula-hula hop"... With movements, kicks, a somewhat over-the-top dance, and a performance that becomes increasingly exhausting (in addition to the song being absolutely invalid and especially with a text that is nothing short of chilling), this Sanremo passage will be remembered as one of the most trashy of the last 30 years.

Critically slaughtered by journalists (especially Venegoni) during "Dopofestival," the song is released exclusively as a promotional 45-rpm for the juke-box circuit and in the Sanremo compilation: La Impero-rock permanently withdraws from the music and television circuits (or is forced to withdraw?), leaving no trace of herself... in any case, it's a fantastic remedy, an anti-stress and antidepressant for those who want to laugh and smile...

But in any case, the blame must be placed solely on the record producers who repeatedly impose embarrassing songs even on the interpreters themselves, effectively burning a career from the get-go, and this is not the only case!! La Impero has declared multiple times that she was plagiarized and forced to perform this song, which she herself refers to as a sad misstep that cost her career: indeed, the singer was supposed to perform another piece signed by Facchinetti and produced by Fio Zanotti, but at the last moment she was compelled to sing the aforementioned track. @[ZiOn] wish we had more!! It's a real shame that Sinead O'Connor, after a strong start in the music world in the late 1980s, then faded away for various reasons related to her physical and mental health. However, her 1997 interpretation of an Irish folk song like "She Moved Through the Fair" is of an intensity that cannot leave the listener indifferent. Worth rediscovering, and let's hope she can return to these interpretative heights.
