Edoardo Bennato - La Torre Di Babele
#copertinebelle
"I depicted humanity dedicated to war, an imaginary snapshot of the human family and its innate tendency towards violence. It starts with the Neanderthal man in the bottom left, and then, as you move from left to right and from bottom to top, the weapons become increasingly sophisticated. It’s an image that represents the biblical concept of the Tower of Babel, with men determined to challenge nature and even God Himself, who ultimately punished them for their presumption."
"With the Tower of Babel, I wanted to try to explain the biblical sense of a blind humanity in its pursuit of weapons, to the point of daring to challenge divinity itself in an uncontrollable and unmanageable escalation. Men came to conceive building a tower so high that it would reach the sky and God."
"All the tracks on this album follow a precise thread and reflect my stance against every form of conflict. I realized that the best way to describe the ills of society was to ridicule them, which is why the various songs provocatively and ironically address the different topics related to war and the hatred between peoples who fail to communicate with each other, and thus feel the need to confront each other with force."
