The Doors - The Changeling (HD) "Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (51) "It’s what we like and what we know how to do best, healthy and simple blues." There would be enough material to write a chapter about the period when "L.A. Woman" was recorded (for me, the best album along with the debut if I had to choose a couple). Jim, exhausted, on trial and sentenced to two and a half years, the alcohol that had now compromised his psychological and physical state, the European tour postponed – just a pointless run for a bland performance at the White Festival. However, there was one last album to record under contract for Elektra. They arrived in the studio in terrible conditions but with plenty of blues material. Given the situation, the historic Rothchild left the company. "Watch me change"; clearer than that, Jim could not be in this spectacular blues with everyone giving their all, including Jerry Scheff (and Mark Brenno on second guitar), Elvis's bassist, who throughout the album forms a rhythm section with Densmore.
