THE REVIEW

(...) and then a thousand streets grey as smoke,
in a world of lights feeling like nobody (...)

Ciao Amore Ciao, Luigi Tenco

To understand certain things, you have to live them.
Listening is not enough.
During these days, something happened to me that truly made me live Pink Moon.

Nick showed up with a package under his arm at the Islands' studios. The secretary announced him to the boss. Nick went up and entered the large hall flooded with light.
"Hi Nick, it's good to see you again. You don't look too bad. Do you mind waiting here for a moment? I've got a bunch of phone calls to make. Cheer up! I'll be right back. It won't take long. We need to talk about your future! You'll see that sooner or later people will recognize your worth."

The empty house without the constant sound of my daughter's footsteps and shouts welcomes me again this evening.
I'm alone, just me and the silence of the turned-off television.
I'm doing my very own intensive evening solitude course.
And I listen to Nick Drake.
A few piano notes. His guitar and his voice.
In my head.
There are no notes of his in the air, I don't need them.
I listen to Pink Moon and embark on a journey at the end of my little night.
In search of a perfect pain, to find myself again.
And with myself, the smile of your embrace and your understanding.

"Susan, do you know what happened to Drake? I told him to wait in the hall, but he disappeared. He left an hour ago? But where could that damned boy have gone! Who can understand him! What?? He left a tape?"

Know that I love you
Know that I don't care
Know that I see you
Know that I am not there

Know, Nick Drake

Nick’s voice penetrated my heart to touch the deepest strings of my soul, it motivated me immensely.

This album has made my life less trivial, less flat and gray.

"'Pink Moon' is the story of a defeat but also represents a victory."

The image is one of free fall, into the void, without a parachute. But there’s no pain, no suffering, you simply let yourself be carried away.

By Louis

I recognize that fantastically acoustic guitar, that familiar and unknown voice, beautiful and dangerous, perhaps the right thing at the wrong time?

Tears are the blood of the soul.

By Frank Bermuda

"Pink Moon is just like a sad phone call that goes deep inside you and injects you with a form of profound melancholy."

"Nick Drake is the almost extinguished ember burning in the coal of a fireplace, but that will never fully go out."

By Hell

That night, that damned night, I wanted everything to end. To never look anyone in the face again, neither pain, nor myself.

The face was pink and round like a moon, a scarred, frightened, and distraught moon, the mouth a river of bright red, the eyes two gray puddles forgotten by God.
