The pink moon is a harbinger of misfortune, without any hesitation.
The pink moon is an omen of turbulence, a hint of change. We are creatures composed of 65% water, and the pink moon transforms us into goldfish without a chance to reply.
It's already written and already happening ("Pink moon"), it plays with the games the morning teaches it ("From the morning"), it dares not give a name to the days and stays with people who know everything has already been said ("Things behind the sun"), it wonders who will be chosen now if it won't be it ("Which will").
And then there is a boy who watches it while trying to find a place that is just his own, a boy "greener than the hill where the flowers grew and where the sun still shines" ("Place to be").
The pink moon governs the whole scenario, but the boy tries to speak of the sun to the best of his ability; despair is hidden like the things concealed behind the light, but there is no way to escape it for much longer.
The boy returns home from a party and drives through the English countryside, always keeping to the right because he has just returned from a stay in France and has yet to readjust to the habits of his mother island. The pink moon gives way to the dawn, and the boy thinks that returning home in step with a new day reclaiming its space has the sanctity of a ritual that has deeply embedded itself in the flesh.
The pink moon enchants, the pink moon has the awareness of a testament.
After this album, the history of music would never be the same. But she couldn't know it yet.
Listening is not enough.
I listen to Pink Moon and embark on a journey at the end of my little night.
Nick’s voice penetrated my heart to touch the deepest strings of my soul, it motivated me immensely.
This album has made my life less trivial, less flat and gray.
"'Pink Moon' is the story of a defeat but also represents a victory."
The image is one of free fall, into the void, without a parachute. But there’s no pain, no suffering, you simply let yourself be carried away.
I recognize that fantastically acoustic guitar, that familiar and unknown voice, beautiful and dangerous, perhaps the right thing at the wrong time?
Tears are the blood of the soul.
"Pink Moon is just like a sad phone call that goes deep inside you and injects you with a form of profound melancholy."
"Nick Drake is the almost extinguished ember burning in the coal of a fireplace, but that will never fully go out."
