Marillion are an English rock band formed in 1979, central to the neo-progressive movement. They achieved early success with Fish-era albums (eg. Misplaced Childhood) and continued with Steve Hogarth as vocalist from 1989, releasing acclaimed works including Brave and Marbles.

Fish (Derek Dick) left the band in 1988; Steve Hogarth became the vocalist in the following period. The band has used fan funding and self-releases (notably Marbles) and has alternated concept albums, double albums and long-form suites with more concise songs.

DeBaser's reviews cover Marillion's career from the Fish era to the Hogarth era. Reviewers highlight landmark albums such as Misplaced Childhood, Brave and Marbles. The later period is noted for emotional, atmospheric songwriting and fan-funded/self-released projects.

For:Fans of progressive rock, listeners interested in emotionally driven, atmospheric rock and Marillion followers of both Fish and Hogarth eras.
