Musical Group

Spanish rock band formed in Zaragoza in 1984. Core lineup: Enrique Bunbury (vocals), Juan Valdivia (guitar), Joaquín Cardiel (bass), Pedro Andreu (drums). Known for influential late-80s/90s albums and international success.

Formed in Zaragoza in 1984 (originally called Zumo de Vidrio). Key studio albums include El mar no cesa (1988), Senderos de Traición (1990), El espíritu del vino (1993) and Avalancha (1995). Senderos de Traición sold over 400,000 copies in Spain, ~250,000 in Germany and ~100,000 in Italy (as reported in DeBaser reviews). Producers mentioned in reviews include Phil Manzanera (El espíritu del vino) and Bob Ezrin (Avalancha). The band broke up in the mid-1990s and later reunited for a short tour in the 2000s; the live double album Parasiempre documents their final tour in the 1990s.

DeBaser reviews praise Héroes del Silencio as a key Spanish rock band noted for Bunbury's voice and Valdivia's guitar. Senderos de Traición (1990) achieved strong sales in Spain, Germany and Italy. Later albums El espíritu del vino (1993) and Avalancha (1995) consolidated international success and a harder rock sound.

For:Fans of Spanish rock, 1990s alternative/hard rock, and admirers of Enrique Bunbury and Juan Valdivia.

Needless to say, the leading track of the album is the splendid "Entre Dos Tierras", a suggestive rock song, which is undoubtedly the most popular of the Spanish quartet.
