THE REVIEW

Spanish "zarro" rock quartet, there's no denying it, but very charismatic indeed, "Senderos De Traición" is an intense force due to the charm that echoes in the tracks sung in their native language, making it sensual and mucho caliente, practically encender el fuego de la pasión de amor. The percussion is the essential foundation, but the voice is the soul of the Album, a guttural intertwining that ignites the soul.

When we talk about Spanish music, one immediately thinks of a red rose between the teeth and a carnal tango, which equates to these twelve rock-infused tracks that immediately make you want to sing and dance, preferably with your macho. "Entre Dos Tierras" opens with fuego, arguably the best track, acoustic guitars, synths full of paralyzing adrenaline, and the voice is a caliente vibración. "Maldito Duende" is less tempestuous than the previous but charismatic in its own right; "La Carta" impresses with its tambourine sounds, it's a "delightfully sweet" rock, captivating, and the melody of the language in every single word enchants the listener, penetrating the heart to its fullest. "Malas Intenciones" offers melodic and continuous acoustic guitar sounds accompanying percussion dominated by an authoritative voice tone; "Sal" might be the shortest track I've ever heard, 0.20 seconds of lustful sigh; "Senda" is another "calm" piece where all attention focuses on the acoustic guitar and the voice battling the instruments; "Hechizo" brings us back to the opening vortex, with hot rock, a piercing voice, and a racing gallop of guitars and percussion creating a gigantic dust storm at uncontrollable speed, in an explosion of hormones suppressed for too long, which in excitement rise uncontrolled.

"Oración" is very slow, a heart full of love, with always the acoustic guitars, a fundamental point, and I would say it's a piece for estrechar al pecho un amigo tierno (embrace a tender friend); "Despertar" is a cheerful and carefree ballad amidst endless fragrant fields; "Decadencia" takes us back to a bullfight where the bull is tired and angry, mouth foaming and eyes full of rage, rock ready for the most combative charge until the last breath of life, Joaquín's voice screams anxiously without pity, and the percussion is exhausting; "Con Nombre De Guerra" cymbals, percussion, and guitars kneel in a declaration of love para la muchacha; "El cuadro II" starts with a harpsichord introduction leading to repeated percussions in a wild race driven by sensual vocal refrains, an excellent closure I'd say.

This Album is ser todo oídos y corazón, which means it must be listened to with ears and heart. Con todo el mí amor..... Mariaelena

Héroes del Silencio

Héroes del Silencio formed in Zaragoza in 1984 and rose from early EMI releases to international acclaim. Their debut El mar no cesa (1988) carried new wave/pop hues, but Senderos de Traición (1990) became a turning point, with strong European sales and the hit “Entre dos tierras.” El espíritu del vino (1993), produced by Phil Manzanera, expanded their sound and chart reach, and Avalancha (1995), produced by Bob Ezrin, marked a peak before the 1996 split. The band reunited for a short tour in 2007.
